Posted - 09/08/2014 : 10:58:23 AM This is the sort of discussion that shows the off season has dragged on wayyyyyy too long. Anyone in love with the Stanley Cup winner LA Kings colors and logo??. Will be nice to have some real on-the-ice hockey issues to talk about rather than color schemes and graphic design issues. |

Posted - 09/07/2014 : 8:59:33 PM Sorry, I just can't get excited about it. I may grow to tolerate but that's about it. It has nothing to do with the wholesale change from Twister either but rather that it's a complete knock off of something that's already out there. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if the marketing firm had an intern simply call up the Carolina Hurricanes and buy one of their rejected logos on the cheap. |

Posted - 09/05/2014 : 8:03:36 PM I assume that those who dislike the new logo also dislike the Reds logo as they are ither just the stylized C or one with "Reds" inside the C. Guess you would like to see the return of the cartoon character with the mustache |

They could have done a whole lot better. Simply making the old logo more modernized with the new jersey colors would have been great.
A C that looks like a turbocharger and doesn't say Cincinnati or look hockey related is just plain stupid.
So let me get this straight. A C logo doesn't say Cincinnati, but a toothless cartoon of a tornado does?? SMH. You sir, are an idiot. Stick to "racing" toy cars.
Do you really need to call people idiots and seemingly put down their hobbies (?) to get your point across? |

I know they have been wanting to change it for a long time. They hated the gold in the previous logo/jerseys. I believe they also felt the previous version just didn't look very professional. The last two logos have both looked like bad art projects from an elementary school. |

Posted - 08/31/2014 : 1:49:14 PM My two cents on the new logo is this, it actually looks like the name Cyclones. A Cyclone as everybody knows is the word for hurricane in the Pacific and a Cyclone does not look like a tornado, however I grew up on the twister logo and yes its difficult to see it go but its whats on the ice that counts. Now do I think they could have done a better design that didnt look like the Carolina Hurricanes yes! Do I like the colors? Yea, especially that grey or silver jersey. I wonder if they had Carolina look over the logo to keep from copyright infringement IMO, it does look close. But I think it wont keep people from getting jerseys, it wont keep people from getting the special jerseys at auction Cincinnatians say so much but do the opposite, its like the Bengals, we go from hating them one year to Who Dey in year two to get rid of the quarterback in year 3 to lets go Bengals, its truly what happens on the ice that counts. |

Posted - 08/30/2014 : 12:28:22 PM My wife runs an embroidery business and she wasn't keen on the logo till we watched the video and saw what it looked like on a player in some light. The metallic thread within the logo will look great on the ice. I can get used to the jersey's, I like the grey alternates. I am not sure what the process is for jersey league ok, but I wonder if a shoulder patch could be thrown on before the season starts to appease the pitchfork and torch crowds. I think the goalie C on the shoulder would make all better. |

Posted - 08/30/2014 : 12:01:08 PM I think that the jerseys look great and the colors are pretty spot-on. No more gold!
The logo leaves a lot to be desired and from what I saw it appears that there isn't even a different one for the shoulder. Using the two previous logos as the two shoulder logos would have been a nicer tough to pay homage to them. Frankly anything different on the shoulders would have been better. The main logo would have looked cool as the shoulder logo only even. I was hoping for a lot more and am quite disappointed with it. If we were Carolina's affiliate in the AHL then it'd make a little more sense. It was an overly "safe" choice and doesn't even seem to accomplish any type of awareness around town like the previous logo did. Cincinnatians aren't going to recognize it as anything for quite a while since it makes no reference to hockey and hardly to the team's name.
In the end though it is all about the on-ice product and my enjoyment of that doesn't change based on what they're wearing. Hopefully they'll revise this and bring out something new after a few years. |

Posted - 08/30/2014 : 09:59:30 AM I agree with Randy. I'm not at all opposed to change, but I won't be trading in my jerseys for this one in this lifetime. Very disappointed in this one. |

Posted - 08/30/2014 : 12:49:24 AM The C looks like a hurricane eye, and the circle looks like a cleaned up version of the Carolina Hurricanes logo... at least weve won more cups than them...
Try again, Kristin! |

Really like the colors. I think the design will grow on me. As a transplant to this city, it's remarkable how negative people are about change. Laughable actually. But I digress. Typical, it would seem, for folks on here.
The rebranding was one of the worst kept secrets. I was looking forward to the unveiling, just disappointed with the result. It's safe and corporate.
Cincinnati sports fans are hostile to change, there's no denying that.. but somebody should listen when it's this overwhelmingly negative. They're going to need somebody to sell the new merch to after all.
It's Cincinnati. People will find something to complain about. Seems I'm right..again. |

Posted - 08/29/2014 : 9:51:32 PM If there was just something there to associate with in regards to Cyclones history. I suppose it is difficult to rebrand a tornado and an impaled hockey goalie (LOL). Some teams I guess just have iconic logos that stand the test of time like Montreal and Boston, even the Ft Wayne Komets for that matter. I remember when Boston changed their logo and people went nuts. In any case logo or not they're still the team I love to root for. GO CYCLONES!!!! |
