I think it's time for a new goal song. To hell with tradition, the Cyclones organization and ownership group need to stop sending money to a pedophile. The Nashville Predators changed their goal song for the same reason.
I'm kind of surprised it didn't happen earlier this season with the re-branding. Or maybe it did. Admittedly, I haven't had a chance to go to a game since January and they were still playing 'Rock and Roll Pt 2' at that time.

It'd be a public performance license, likely an agreement that Nederlander & AEG have with the publishing agencies (ASCAP, BMI, etc).
It gets complicated because the Cyclones are not likely paying that license directly, but instead would be covered by Nederlander which owns the team and arena in a partnership with AEG.
It's a tedious trail to follow the money, but it ends with every performance contributing to Gary Glitter's prison commissary fund.
Shifting gears a bit, I'd love to hear the chorus to Clutch's 'Electric Worry' for the goal song. 'Bang! Bang! Bang! Vamonos! Vamonos!' I think the Canucks used this song for a few seasons. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kx6FV2qR2TY
'Thunderstruck' makes a lot of sense, but it's perfect as the team intro. Maybe 'Rock You Like a Hurricane' since we ripped off elements of the 'Canes logo anyways?

Note: I'm not saying changing it is a bad idea, just that a AA minor league hockey team probably isn't paying royalties if I had to wager a guess. |

Even though the song is etched in our heads for a goal scored, I can agree
for your reason for change. How about changing "Thunderstruck" to the
"Goal Scored" theme and make up a new opening song.
Even though it's old, always thought "Lunatic Fringe " would be a great way to
