Andy Iles sure picked an inopportune time to go into a slump. His numbers of late are atrocious. Some of the goals he gave up last night were incredibly soft. On Tuesday, he gave up four goals on 14 shots. With this passive, un-physical defensive corps, the Cyclone will go only as far as Iles can take them. And, from the looks of it, that appears to be the first round.
It sounds like Thiessen will not be coming back to Cincinnati after the Blue Jacket season ends. So, it's up to Andy. I hope he can pull out of this spiral.

It's a valid point. It further illustrates how little faith Matt has in Whitney to not give Andy a respite of any sort. You could tell he was struggling and not as focused. Also, you could see that the entire team was pretty tired on Saturday night.
I hope Andy can get some rest and pull out of this slump. From the sound of things, Thiessen is not coming back at all. |
