Posted - 12/24/2014 : 4:33:50 PM The Blue Jackets, Buffalo Sabres, Florida Panthers and Detroit Red Wings will be the power teams in the Eastern Conference in the foreseeable future. The New York Islanders are having a great season but they won't be able to sustain it past this season. The Pittsburgh Penguins and Boston Bruins have already begun their decent. Really good teams still, but not what they were. |

Clearly you never saw Yzerman play. Yzerman had 50-goal, 100-point seasons and later in his career became one of best two-way players in the history of the game.
Jenner is future captain material, no doubt, but he's a lot closer to what Kris Draper was than Steve Yzerman as a player. |

It's really a shame the situation with Nathan Horton, they guy would have been a great fit, you really have to feel for him. This years Jackets team might set a record for "player games lost" and go down in Jackets history as one of the greatest "what if" teams. Imagine what they could have been capable of doing in the Metro with Johansen in training camp and Jenner, Horton, and Dubinsky healthy from the start. And that's not even counting the set backs to Anisimov or Ryan Murray.
All said and done, you've got to like what's going on up there. Johansen is is going to get big $$ from someone, hopefully it's the Jackets but they can do it without undermining the other youngsters they've got in system. |
