What a terrific game and effort last night by the guys. I think Toledo is still in shock!
Of course the Enquirer saw fit to give us 9 measly lines out of 8 or 9 pages of sports news about the win. Not even a recap. What a joke that sports section is.
GO CYCLONES....Atlantic City or Greenboro, it doesn't matter.

I agree with everything that MAJ said. If you want a re-cap, go to www.toledoblade.com. Ofcourse, it is Toledo's version......
Toledo even had LIVE reporters at the game. I wonder if the game was televised in Toledo? The truck had a dish on top. Imagine.....live reporters at an AWAY game. I know, what else is there to do in Toledo?

would be great to have that kind of coverage!!!

i looked at the Toledo Storm website and i read this in the first few lines...

-----------------------------
The Storm could not get past Cincinnati in Game 4 of their 2nd round series last night, in front of another pathetic crowd in Cincinnati. The Storm dropped the game by a score of 4-1. The loss eliminates Toledo from the playoffs after earning the leagues best mark during the regular season. The Storm struggled to score throughout the playoffs after scoring 9 goals in their first playoff game. The Storm had 1 power play goal in two playoff series. The Storm would like to thank all the fans who came out and made the 2002-03 a season to remember.
----------------------------------------

i'm not sure if this comes off this way to you guys, but i took this as a pretty cheap shot. the fan attendence has nothing to do with the outcome of games and the cyclones OUTPLAYING Toledo. i emailed the site back and told them i hope they enjoy their off season and Brabham Cup. i also told them we are "the few, the proud"... and said its pathetic for their losing attitude for saying something as such.

HOOOWWW BOUT 'DEM CYCLONES!!!

Also read on the Toledo Blade article that the team was so overwrought last night that they stayed dressed in the locker room for 1/2 hour. Lots of tears. Boo Hoo!
Bet Teskey is sorry he played that pick-up soccer game.

i checked back on their website a couple hours later (just now). looks like the article has been edited after my email. it no longer has the comment about our crowd last night. but i guess thats all they can really talk about after the series they had. i think the 3rd period of Game 4 last night pretty much summed up how we outplayed those Brabham Cup champs all series. once again, we are the few - the proud! go cyclones!

Even if their paper took a cheap shot, the Toledo fans who made the
trip showed a lot of class to me. I talked with several between the
second and third period( we were up 3-1) and all were good nature
and in praise of our effort. I still can't figure out why the Storm
didn't pull the goaltender with 4:00 minutes left and faceoff deep
in our end. It seemed like the coach gave up as if they were up
3 games to 1 and was planning for Saturday.
Even 1360 AM was taking shots at us this morning at 6AM. Don't
we just love this Cincinnati media.

I'll back what Bags said. The Toledo fans I encountered were, for the most part, cool & "played nice".

This morning a caller told them he had to listen to a Toledo
station to pick up the highlights after the game. When he asked them
why not the Cyclones on the radio over the hapless Reds, the reply
was "NOBODY CARES" about the Cyclones. He said just look at even
their own arena wants to run them out.He even threw in the Cyclone
fans might as well admit the Ducks are the hockey in town in the
better arena for minor league hockey. Wouldn't you just love to see
the local media "kissing up" to the team if they won it all.Maybe
we could have a victory parade down Langdon Farm Road!
The only good part about the Tuesday loss was the arena had to
wait one more day to start setting up for their beloved arena team.
Let's see if they promote any better than the Cyclones did.

hahaha. since when did sports-talk radio guys follow minor league hockey - and have they even been to games????

apparently their judging the teams by marketing. marketing doesn't get the "W". but if you wanna call sucessful marketing as better hockey - whatever.

John Buccigross has a great column regarding media's ignorance of Hockey. Read item #2: Do not let the mainstream American media's lack of hockey passion affect you in any way. It gives you another way to view how the media in town treats our Hockey. Have a read:
http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/playoffs2003/story?id=1538933

I say if Cincinnati wants to fixate on the Bengals & the Reds, let'em. The city deserves those two overpriced shams. We know what the real sport is. We know what real winners look like. We're punk rock, folks! :)

Just as a side note, I sent Buccigross an email thanking him for the column. At the end, I added something about getting John Saunders to Cincy to see his team. He responded(!) and said he'd tell John to "get his butt to southern ohio". :)

It's may seem that no one cares about the Cyclones, but I feel
that Hamilton County sure does. They love us for the tax they can
add to our tickets to pay for their baseball and football stadiums.
They are concerned with our safety so they shut the FREE PUBLIC
LANDING down on game nights (high water?) so we can use their garage
at $6 per car. Isn't it great to be a Cincinnati hockey fan.

We were wandering why the landing was closed. High water? I don't think so. I heard that for the month of April, the rainfall is down 1 inch.

This was not my idea...but a group of us in our section was talking and someone brought up this idea. Cyclones dont advertise in the paper. Take the money they were going to use and buy tickets. Take the tickets to business like GE, PG, Cingery, big local companies and pass out tickets to people who would come to the game. This way the seats will be filled and your using the same money you would of spend posting an ad in the paper and maybe you will get these companies to maybe buy a group of season tickets next year...if not you have more people in the seats. Just an idea.
