Weber had to pull the trigger on a goalie deal. Yes, the price was high, but consider:

1) Cedric is in all likelihood in Hamilton until they lose in the playoffs. Their playoffs start one week later than ours. Hamilton won the Calder Cup last year and is playing well now.

2) If any goalie in the Nashville/Milwaukee organization gets hurt, then Daigneault is gone.

3) Max could get hurt here.

4) Max hasn't been a team's number one goalie since he was in junior 3 or 4 years ago. It's more likely that won't be a problem at this level, but it could be.

Weber partially made up for Miller by getting Swanson. Hopefully, we'll get Gleed back soon. And maybe either MAcDonald or Martin. We're so deep at forward that Fuller was very expendable. Getting rid of BOZOian was addition by subtraction.

Phoenix is awful. This guy's numbers in Reading 2 years ago look fine. He's just insurance anyway.

I wouldn't mind seeing him get a start against a team that isn't doing too hot, just to see how he plays.

Our new defensman, Jeremy Swanson, was a 6th round pick for Florida a few years back. Before this season, he'd basically split the previous 2 between the AHL and ECHL.

He's only appeared in 35 games for WHL this season (some injury problems) and while he isn't much of an offensive threat, he was minus 4 for the season. Which is damn good on a team as horrible as WHL.

Let's hope our defense steps in and helps him out more than his previous team....if he get a start, which he eventually will if he is here long enough.

I would be very surprised if he doesn't start one of the 2 games this weekend. I think folks are worrying a lot more then necessary. He should be able to win with this team.

I know it was only Wheeling but hopefully you should feel better about Rudkowsky after he got the shutout tonight.

Wheeling was picking on Deitsch the entire 3rd period. Miller started a fight with him earlier in the period instead of picking on somebody who can actually fight. At the end of the game Boogard went after Jason but Avery stepped in and protected Deitsch and then everybody on the ice grabbed someone and started fighting. It was great to see that team unity again. Also as Wheeling was leaving the ice Darling swung his stick at one of the fans that was leaning over the tunnel and threatened to hit him. It was an Elmira type of situation tonight, really crazy game. I guess when your 55 points out of first place and just playing out the string you gotta try anything to keep yourself going.

BTW. it was a great game tonight the crowed was into it and the hits were hard a the Clones seemed to be fired up and ready. The fighting at the end of the game reminded me of the old IHL days when the guys fought like this, Ritchie, Koehler, and the Boys hell yea. I don't care what some people say Wilson has balls he isn't the best fighter but he will go with ANYONE and that's why I have mad respect for the man. Go Avery. Let get another win tomorrow.

Well, obviously we had no trouble winning with Rudo in net tonight. I have to say, he had me NERVOUS during at the beginning... I feel like Wheeling should always be a push over win, and they end up suprising us. Luckily we didn't have that problem tonight. They were getting physical though. I liked how Rudo made his presence known at the end of the game when everyone was scrapping, he skated to the middle of the rink and was ready to jump in if need be. Good to know he already has the backs of the boys he just started playing with.

Rudo did a great job against wheeling but he left a lot of rebounds and loose pucks. Not sure how he'd do against a better team like reading who get in there more..
