The closest I ever came to getting into it with a coach was once when we played Peoria. The game was over and I was putting the Twister suit away. The Peoria coach busts into the promotions room all pissed wanting to know where's the guy who was in the Twister suit. I said I'm just the guy putting it away and he already left for the night. Inside, I was thinking, "Oh Sh*t!".
I think he was pissed because they were losing and I was behind their bench rubbing my *ss up against the glass. The fans and I both thought it was funny. I don't see why he was mad. ;-)
I've never punched a coach or been punched by a coach but I did get a water bottle thrown at me once... It was at the Ohio Expo center...the Columbus Chill were playing the Roanoke Express, there was a bench clearing fight. Lots of penalty minutes racked up... the assistants were out trying to break it up, with about 1:30 or so left in the game. The Roanoke head coach just stood on the bench watching everything happen.
I called him a P_________ "cat". He threw a water bottle at me and said and I quote "How's that for being a P______ ?"
I wish that I could remember his name because I would have made fun of that guy for the rest of his natural born life! OK- I have to go look it up now
