Cyclones Announce Kelly Cup Playoff Information

Date: Monday, March 17, 2008

CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Cincinnati Cyclones, ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Montreal Canadiens and Nashville Predators, announced their Kelly Cup playoff information following a 3-2 victory over the Johnstown Chiefs—that clinched the club’s first-ever North Division title.

The Cyclones announced that ticket pricing for the Kelly Cup playoffs will be $10 per game throughout the postseason, with the exception of the VIP seats (first two rows around the rink), which will be priced at $22.50. The club also announced that with the bye in the first round and the securing of home ice in rounds two and three—that its first playoff game in the best-of-seven North Division semifinals (Game ‘A’) will take place at U.S. Bank Arena on Friday, April 11 at 7:30pm.

“We felt it was very important to stay consistent with pricing from the regular season,” Kristin Ropp, Vice President/General Manager of U.S. Bank Arena said. “Fans are going to have the ability to enjoy watching the Cyclones chase the Kelly Cup championship without having to pay inflated prices. Playoff pricing is part of the ticket plans that we will be rolling out in the next few weeks for the Cincinnati Cyclones. Announcing these dates this early will be good for helping fans make plans for the semifinal round.”

The Cyclones discounted ticket prices to $10 for all seats, except the VIP seats in December. In the 21 games since the prices were decreased, the Cyclones are averaging 2466 per game—an increase of 31.7 percent in attendance over last season’s average. Five crowds have been in excess of 5000 fans since January 1.

Kelly Cup playoff tickets are currently on sale and can be purchased by contacting TicketMaster at 513-562-4949. Season ticket holders of the Cyclones can contact their sales representative to secure their seat during the postseason.

The Cincinnati Cyclones, have the second-best winning percentage in the ECHL, return to U.S. Bank Arena on Wednesday morning (March 19) versus Johnstown at 10am. The latest news on the team and the webcast of the game can be heard at: www.cycloneshockey.com.

Must be nice to have a GM that realizes putting fans in the stands is not to raise ticket prices.

They finally realize the more fans you have in the stand equals more money being spent in the consessions.

Thanks RL and all the other Dayton fans posting here. If we could get as far as you
got last year that would be great. If we could get one step farther would be unbelievable.
Our first playoff task will probably be against you and I for one will not take you too
lightly. You never have an "easy" game when Dayton and Cincinnati meet up.Our success may
depend on who is healthy, who is sent back and when they are sent back.

COVE: Yeah, FINALLY being the key word!

R_L: Thanks, we of course agree... but I think our team needs to be rebuilt some if we want the Kelly Cup. Games are only going to get tougher (thats POs for you), and there are currently some weak spots that definately need strengthening if we want to go full swing!

Keep your head up Caitskee,

everyone had us as the loser every game last year and we proved them all wrong.

It's not a matter of my head being down, I'm just saying we could DEFINATLEY use the help of the boys we're missin right now. If we had them back we'd be surely unstoppable :)
