Saw this tidbit in the Cyclones Weekly press release:
HALF A CENTURY!: The Cyclones became only the tenth team in ECHL history--and the fourth in Cincinnati’s pro hockey history -- to register 50 wins with the triumph Saturday at Wheeling. Cincinnati has had three other teams win at least 50 games--and two of those won their league championships. The 1972-73 Cincinnati Swords (AHL) won 54 games and claimed the Calder Cup. The 1995-96 Cincinnati Cyclones (IHL) won 51 games and lost in the Eastern Conference finals. The 1955-56 Cincinnati Mohawks (IHL) won 50 games and claimed their fifth consecutive Turner Cup before leaving town at the conclusion of the year.
The Mohawks did not leave town at the conclusion of the 1955-56 season, as stated in the Cyclones press release. The Mohawks played at the Gardens through the 1957-58 season, winning their fifth consecutive Turner Cup in 1956-57.
