Went out onto their site today, again i'm reading about how the evil Cyclones empire of fans were rude in Dayton, however I wanted to balance the scale alittle and tell you about the game on 3/16 when we lost in a shootout. Now i'm aware that fans in every arena can be bad, however at the golden seats of the Nutter, apparently they can do no wrong. I digress, we were there, My wife, 2year old, 2 month old and I, alone, not drinking and minding our own business. We would cheer when we scored and sulked when they scored. about midway through the third, a couple of guys wearing Sugden jerseys started sitting about t rows in front of us, our two month old started crying and apparently that drew more attention, eventually one of them turned around and quite sarcasticlly asked us if there was a problem with our baby, In which I replied she's a baby. For whatever reason after the shotout was over, they both stood up and gave us the finger and informed us that they(Dayton) will see usClones in the F---king playoffs, they actually acted as though they had just won the Stanley Cup Finals. I said, we'll see, and what the hell is wrong with you guys acting that way around our children, my wife commented alcohol. They proceded to nearly get into our faces...like I would throw down holding our daughter in a pumpkin seat. thankfully two other Dayton fans interjected that we had won and that they(drunks) needed to leave us alone. The Nice Dayton fans followed us out to our car and wished us a safe drive home...just a story, it's in every arena |

Yeah. I am too. I'm suprised cops arent sitting in dayton with the cyclones fans because 'we cause the trouble'. I have also had a dayton fan get in my face... but hah of course they can do no wrong...

Funny thing is... a decent group of Cyclones fans went outside to the bus after the game there on Tuesday and the security gaurd out there told us flat out we could come out as long as we weren't "asshole locals" that were looking to cause trouble. Apparently one person in Dayton has a brain and knows how it really is. I'm not saying all of our fans are angels, but when it comes down to it we get tossed and they get high-fives.

Yeah I've been reading that crap on the Dayton board and apparently the double standard doesn't apply to dayton fans. It's funny how they say they don't care about the cricket cup but you know if they had won it the past two years they would be throwing it in our face.

I know Lou can be loud and obnoxious sometimes (some know him, because he always gets yelled at my by the security gaurds) which can be not a good thing, but that doesn't excuse the fact that some of the Dayton fans were booing our injured player and making trouble. They treated us kinda crappy when we were just heckling and enjoying the game. They dont do it as a joke or for fun.
I don't know how I feel about going back to Dayton anymore..... |

I almost went Tuesday night but now I'm glad I didn't. I probably would have gotten into it with someone. It's not worth it.

Sorry anyone had a bad fan interaction from Dayton fans - I know it happens at every arena when wearing the opposing teams colors, doesn't excuse any of it but it does happen. As far as Dayton booing the injured player that was not what I heard, the whole arena was standing and cheering for him as he was carted off, not saying that there weren't a couple idiots booing but there was concern from 99% of the people there for your player.Hopefully we can get a chance to play again in the playoffs but we must take care of Johnstown.

Every city including Cincinnati has some bad fans but I have been welcomed to several opposing arenas while I was wearing a Cyclones Jersey. Specifically several people in Dayton have thanked me for coming. Like most situations the great majority of people are good but the bad minority will always get the attention.

Just wanted to say that it was this one group who was booing and it was at a random time, not when everyone was clapping. I know that guy who was booing has a record for being an a**hole there too... sorry i wasn't more specific. Its just that some of these dayton people get under my skin and I shouldn't let them.

Yeah, every team has their a-hole fans....I know one large one that sits right behind our bench and will scream at fans from other teams when they score a goal on us. I mean, come on....of course your going to root for the team you came to see.

It always seems to be the longhaired guy that sits with Jericho. He's always trying to start stuff with people even when they're just minding they're own business. Then when you step up to him security will jump in or he'll bug out and start talking about how its just a game and we should leave him alone.

I wonder who is to blame more.. the BUMMER fans for being low class or the security and staff at the nutter center for taking they're word over anything else and assuming that if you are a dayton fan you can do no wrong while if you are from the other team you are just there to cause trouble
