Johnstown is playing very well right now. Although, in all fairness, any decent team would look good against Dayton. The Chiefs did win their last 2 against us. For the season, we were 8-1-1 against them.
Johnstown has a definite size advantage. They are tough both on offense and defense. They also have more than a few skilled forwards. Ryan Nie is playing 'lights out' in goal of late.
The Cyclones have much more scoring firepower. Every forward who will be in the line up can contribute (assuming JM is back by game 3). With Conrad Martin's imminent return, we will finally have a defense which doesn't have glaring weak points.
IMO, the series will come down to our speed and skill versus Johnstown's size and grit. Goaltending will also be key to the outcome. If this series had taken place a month ago, I would have said Cyclones in no more than 5-perhaps even a sweep. With Johnstown's stellar play of late, I'll go with the clones in 6. If we are firing on all cylinders, I don't see us losing. Hopefully, there's plenty of gas left in the tank, because the Cyclones have been cruising in overdrive all season long. |

| Nice post hrc666, I did very little research and have found that even though we lost the last two, the first of our last two losses came off a shootout, or loss in overtime, not certain which, the last 6-3 dusting we took...well I think we were still in the mitst of an injury bug...and call ups, and we had already made the playoffs, this might actually be, the hardest series for us. I have a good feeling about a 7 game series, might have felt more nervous with a 3 gamer. I wouldn't be surprised to see a game 7, given they are playing well, however the lat two game we lost against them...well we were not at 100%. We could actually blow them away at 100% Friday wil tell |

| I'm nervous i'll tell you, however I would be nervous if we were playing Dayton as well. It's been far overdue for us here in Cincy for this type of team, and to have come as far as we have come, I would hate to see us lose to a team like johnstown whom we have dominated this year and still are clearly better, I just hope the guys stay focused...Go clones |

| I agree that with Conrad and Macker both here, our D is going to get a lot stronger than we've seen it most of the season. I'm also positive that our "French Connection" will prevail on the offensive side! If McElroy and Syro would get their butts active we would definately have the grit component! Apparently Maki's on his way to fill that void as well. Just curious to see who gets activated during our first round. All in all, we've had problems all year with keeping our roster in check (call-ups, injuries, pansies leaving *Howells*) and somehow still got this far, I am certain that the team Chuck has built for POs can go all the way. It's just a matter of them sticking to their game and playing full-time every night. |

The main thing I have to say is we need to watch out big time. I think I've always underestimated J-town and it was for good reasons because they weren't exactly good at the beginning of the season, but I really think we are going to have a hard time with them now that they are gonna be determined to try and take out the big dogs.
Let's hope we get some recruits back so we can be stacked by the time at least the 3rd game comes around. |

the play off format has changed to the lame 2-2-1-1-1. game 5 will be friday 4/18 in cincy, game 6 is back in the butt hole of pennsylvania on saturday 4/19 and game 7 will be back at USBA on monday 4/21...mark you calendars accordingly.
the 2-2-1-1-1 format is lame in this case. i wonder who's idea it was to switch from the 2-3-2. 6 hours on a bus between games 5 and 6 does no one any good. |

| Johnstown has a prior commitment to the war memorial on 4/18. Thats why we flip-flopped game 5 and 6. |
What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

| Actually my wife and I was talking about this tonight, It seems like to me with this type of format, home ice advantage sorta loses its appeal. A team with the home ice advantage should get maybe the first three gams and damn the team at a lover ranking, next time strive harder and get that home ice. when the Clones take games 1-2, we stand to maybe not see the end of the series because the Clones are away, this format tries to be fair, but lifes not fair. One more home game to the home ice team however it seems like it needs to be formatted different, Hell maybe the first 4 games need to be home for the higher seed. i don't really know. There's really no home ice advantage for a 2-2 format, and then if it goes to a 7th game, it all is decided on which team travels better. Just a rambling thought |

If the higher seed got the first 4 games their fans would rarely see the end game of that round because taking 4 straight should be a rare event. The traveling stinks but I think the 2-2-1-1-1 format is the most fair. You can do no worse then having at least an equal number of games on home ice and you have a reasonable chance of seeing the final game of that round on your home ice. |
Get Clones instead of Clunkers.

What I dont like about this besides the travel for the guys is, Friday the 18th the Reds have a HOME game. So parking will be higher and might cause an average fan not to go. Saturday the Reds have a DAY game and there would of been less traffic heading to the game.
