Take a quick look at this link and read about our referee for this evening's 'Titanic Struggle'.

This just made me dread the fact that I spent $20 on my tickets for the evening. Here's to a win and another round of playoff hockey here in the Queen City!
I know it's a Monday night but I'm really hoping that there is a good turn out for tonight. |

That means 2 things, both teams tonight will have to test the boundaries or lack thereof. Second, we will have to beat the refs as well, which I might add, we have had to beat the refs this entire series/season. We are no strangers to bad officiating. I actually see our offense finding themselves tonight. I think we saw that on Saturday. The penalty kill will have to come through a little Better for us because we cannot allow Reading to have hope late in the third. I have little understanding why the least penalized team in the league suddenly takes as many penelties as we have, being that we are one of the fastest teams. If we are able to set a precident by skating fast and have Reading take a few hooking and holding calls then that could also help this Nissen guy make better calls |

| Sounds like the kind of ref the Cyclones typically have, so that shouldn't be a problem. Interesting that the league has him doing a game 7 though if he is as bad as it sounds. I would hope to see a game tonight where it's decided by the players, no penalties unless it's blatant or causes a team to lose a scoring chance. |

| CloneRyderfan, you kinda took my thunder, after my last post I was thinking and I suppose if I go into it ALREADY KNOWING THE REFS SUCKS" then maybe I can manage to keep my blood pressure down! I would agree, I don't want either team walking out and blaming the refs for the loss, I do not want an alleged puck kicking or third period 0-0 5 minute left interference call....Go Clones |

| The way both teams' PP's are going right now, especially the cyclones, the ref might as well not call anything and give his arm a rest. |

Funny. The Cyclones are 0 for their last 26. But, they haven't given up a shorthander in that streak.
I expect the power play to get untracked tonight. This pp slump has gone on for about as long as it possibly can. Hasn't it? |

| Someone I know, a Royals fan at that, said that he could count on one hand the number of well officiated games he's seen since the Royals started playing. |

After all was said and done one of the best officiated games of the year. The calls that were made were proper and when two guys got tangled up no call was made, the way it should be. The "goal" that was called off due to a high stick was 100% right. It sounded like the stick hit Cedric's helmet enroute to the puck.
Martin deserved the unsportsmanlike and roughing. Thats what you get when you punch someone in the face. It set the tone for the last period. |

I thought that it was an easy game to officiate. Perhaps one of the Reading penalties was a bit ticky tacky, but at least Nissen erred in the proper direction!
I'd take this guy over the whistle-happy clown Pelletier any day of the week. |
