He's entertaing the old "more attendance begets more coverage / more coverage begets more attendance" question with regards to the Cyclones. If you'd like to get your two cents in, you can respond to his column. I sent my response in already.
I thanked the writers for promoting us. Mr Daugherty was kind enough to respond back with his aol address (which I probably shouldnt disclose). I think we should always thank those in the media who help us. We had a great crowd last night, but we didnt do enough of the "let's go cyclones" cheer...I wanted that place way way wayyyyyy noisier than it was. His short message:
as far as i am concerned Paul can stick it in his ear.he wants to take credit for the Clones attendence?I believe he and the rest of the cin media sports reporters dropped the ball this season on the Cyclones that is a fact and to jump on the post!season bandwagon and pat his self on the back,,WEEEELLLLL SSEEEEEEE YAAAAHHHH!!If it was up to me any media folks would be made to pay to get in to a Cyclones game!
I think the point of his article wasn't to pat himself on the back- I think the point was, MORE COVERAGE may EQUAL more people. I believe that is true. I was really surprised that there weren't more people there on Saturday. It was nice to see around 10,000 for the weekend. GREAT HOCKEY here's hoping that our next home game is the Kelly Cup Finals, and the Clones can take S.C. by storm and give the Stingrays their first 2 losses at home for the playoffs.
