I think the series is gonna be similar to the SC series but prolly a 2-1 on the road(in favor of LV) and then come home with the series at 3-2 clones.

I think Cyclones win the first two at home....Sat game winning 3-1. Going to Gegas winning 1 of 3 in Vegas and win game 6 to win the cup on home ice. As much as I want them to win it on home ice, I would take winning the cup in Vegas.

Agreed. Would love to see them win the cup at home, but hey as long as we win it who cares.

We need Daoust and Aubin to pick it up. Hopefully Weber will have Schmidt under control. He has been consistently been lax on his defensive responsibilities throughout the playoffs. Gleed got benched in SC due to his failure to put defense first. If McElroy is healthy, then I think Schmidt had best be looking over his shoulder.

We seem to have more offensive firepower than LV. We scored almost 50 more goals than they did during the regular season. LV's playoff opponents combined for a regular season win percentage of about .450 while our's had a percentage of about .540. We've beaten better teams-or so it would seem-to get to where we are.

Desjardins was on fire the last 2 games vs. SC. He stole game 5. Per usual, goaltending will have a huge part in the series outcome. LV appears to be as sound as we are defensively as they only gave up one more goal than we did in the regular season.

Our power play was the best in the league during the regular season. We converted a few percentage points higher than LV did. The penalty killing was about even. Our PP hasn't been all that good in the post season, but our PK has been awesome. If our PP gets it back in gear-perhaps no Schmidt all the time?-then LV might be in serious trouble.

The Cyclones have a great defense. It is really easy to overlook given how good our offense is. Many of our defensemen have played for significant amounts of time in the AHL during their careers. If they continue to play as well as they have-with the glaring exceptions of Schmidt (throughout the post season) and Gleed (vs. SC)-then I don't see any reason that we can't be Kelly Cup Champions.

Cyclones in 6.

My prediction is.....the refs will come into the series with a chip on their shoulder, and make superhuman bad calls at bad times of the game and change history forever, one team's fans will believe it was the right call and the other team's fans will then be convinced that the ref was on crack. In all seriousness, if the Clone "A" team skates out onto the ice on Saturday, then this I believe has the chance to get ugly for LV, maybe in 5, wouldn't be surprised to see a sweep. I've seen a fair amount of "Real" evidence(stats) to suggest the West was kinda soft this year, aside from that I feel that the Wranglers play alot like us. If we are to expect sitting in an arena tomorrow night with 8000 fans, we really need to put together some complete games. Not quite on target for the thread however, we are on a cusp of greatness. We have certainly gotten the media's attention, the numbers are speaking for themselves and I think we even have a few clone detractors looking in through the windows. If we put together a great finale to the season that sould propel us to quite a few great things next year as well. I suppose that was a prediction in a way.

Your absoluetly right about Schmidt hrc. He won't be sitting out though because Chuck thinks he's amazing for some reason. IMO he's the biggest reason our PP has fallen off. He makes bad passing decisions, he pinches in way TOO much, and he can't hold the puck in the zone very well. When he does get a chance to shoot he can put the puck in the net, but his poor decisions on the PP really cost the team. Chuck needs to have Latendresse and Macdonald running the point on the PP and McElroy if he is healthy. Latendresse has very good vision and because of that he makes nice passes and pretty good decisions on the PP. He has a very decent shot from the point, so he's a scoring threat from there also. Hopefully they figure it out and our goalies continue to cover for Schmidt's mistakes. I have no idea how the guy made it over half the season in the AHL. They've made it this far with him playing with his head up his ass, so I'm hoping they can go a little bit more and win the championship I've been waiting for since the fall of 1990.

CycloneRyderfan73-I also like Latendresse and MacD (or Perkins/McElroy) on the point of the PP.

Weber WILL NOT let Schmidt rain on the parade, I wouldn't think. This series means way too much to the team and his career. If (heaven forbid!) we fall behind in the series and Schmidt continues his 3rd rate defensive play, then I'm sure we'll all have an opportunity to meet him. In the stands. During a game!

Well I would hope he wouldn't let Schmidt rain on the parade, but Chuck always talks so highly of Schmidt like he's made of gold or something. Gleed got sat down because he wasn't taking care of his defensive responsibilities, so I say it's Schmidt's turn now.
