| call me crazy or the cyclones a liar buy on my 16th birthday on Jan 31st 1998 the Cyclones played the Ice Dogs of Los Angeles still at the time I believe. It was Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader night and WEBN night. It was the BT era (before Twister) and Snowbird was shooting t shirt out to the upper bowl where I was sitting. The Apple Bees blimp was dropping coupons or something. The game went in to triple or double OT and then a shoot out. I believe we lost 7 shots to 6. I know we lost. They claimed at the time it was a City of Cincinnati hockey record attendance of 16,+++ I don't recall the exact last three numbers anymore. |

The 12,283 is a 'tarp' number. If tarps are removed, then the capacity of US Bank for hockey becomes 15,800 or so. that may include the boxes and restaurant.
15,800 was about what The Stingers listed capacity as. |

I'll say 12,000.
About 10 minutes before you made you post, I bought 4 tickets in Section 238 row C. There will be a large walk up crowd as always. I say 15,000. |

Tou're crazy.
While Jan 31 1998, the Cyclones did play LB Ice Dogs, and it was a shoot out loss, there was no overtime. Overtime is only used in the playoffs, and was the case in the IHL at that time. |

| It was absolutely an honest number and a sell out for US Bank Arena and the best crowd in league history. |

Well, first off, a lot of Cyclones fans are a bit looney, so I am going to say you are crazy.
The IHL never had overtime, except in the playoffs.
The Cyclones played the Long Beach Ice Dogs. Not Los Angeles.
I do know that capacity for the arena is a bit over 15,000. Any higher than that, and the arena faces a fine from the fire marshall. I interned for the Cyclones back in the Gardens days, and I remember one game when the announced attendance had to be reduced by a couple of hundred because when you include all of the players, employees, and team officials, there would have been over 10,299 in that building. The crowd was probably in the range of 13,000.
I remember seeing a list of all games and attendance for the Cyclones and Stingers. I don't think I will be able to sleep until I find it. |

| 'the bear' I hope you are able to track it down as well. lol tried for a little while here and was not able to find the link. But I seem to recall at least 4 or 5 complete sell out crowds during those years. (mostly coming their final season) |

Yeah, as the bear pointed out, and as the old motto goes, THERE'S NO "TIE" in the "I"! And it always went straight to the SO.
I attended a crapful of games then and probably the most crowded I remember was the IHL All-Star game in (I think) 1999. |
