ROBBIE FTOREK HAS AGREED TO TERMS ON A THREE YEAR CONTRACT
For those who might not know, Robbie Ftorek spent the first part of his hockey career playing for the Cincinnati Stingers in the WHA. He was a coach in the Devils organization, both for New Jersey and Albany (back when Albany was the Devils farm team). He was notoriously fired in 2000 by NJ, despite the fact that they were in 1st place and ended up winning the Stanley Cup that year.
I should also point out that he was Erie's interim coach when they fired their other one last season.
The news that you will see on that link is that he is going to be the head coach of the Erie Otters junior club in the Ontario League. He was already the interim coach for the last quarter of last season.
So, very good for him that this happened. He is a smart hockey mind and a good coach, plus he played for Cincy. |
