| reported on the ECHL site that the Nutter Center was third in voting for best minor league venues? Come on that has to be some type of typo, are we talking about the same Nutter center? Maybe the third best venue without seats that don't go all the way around. I'm confused |

| i noticed we weren't on there and neither was utah. that leaves me to believe its all bull**** or our facilities aren't considered minor league facilities. which i could understand. |

It was an online poll. I would guess that WSU got a big group of people together (along with the Raider Roundball chuckleheads,) and voted.

| Not to mention their single broken down, worn out zamboni, and their nasty staff (wouldn't even let my son stand by the glass during warmups. I have to post this here, because the dumb-assed Bummers organization would make Surfer pull this--can't have anything that is critical of anything related to the Bummers actually appear in print. There-now I feel better. One of the top arenas, my ass! |

| i'm here to play devil's advocate. sure we all know that the nutter center sucks, hell, even jericho doesn't like it. but before you get all up in arms about USBA not being on the list, let me remind you about all the complaining that cyclones fans have done about USBA over the last 2 years; the crappy glass, the stupid camera policy, the door security that takes finger food away from toddlers, and the ushers who feel their only job is to make sure that EVERYONE is in their assigned seat when there are 2000 people in a building that holds 12000. give me a break people..... |

Also being a person who has played there I disagree.
I spent a good 8 periods of my life staring at a brick wall which made it a very boring experience. |

| I don't think that USBA belongs on the list per se, but obviously Nutter Center has no reason to be on there. |

Ok, I think I need to discuss the positives of the arena. Given, I haven't played or watched a game there since 2002-03ish, and some things may have changed.
- It is rarely too crowded
- You have no trouble hearing the person you're talking to because of too much crowd noise.
- There are rarely any lines for the bathrooms
- It's easy to get into and get out of, with a minimum of congestion
edit - being non-sarcastic, Hara isn't much of an improvement, if it could even be considered one. Dayton needs a new arena. Hobart is really the best place to see a hockey game in the Miami Valley, in my (very warped) opinion.
By the way, Dayton plays 6 home games at Hobart Arena. Anyone up for a road trip? |

I don't think USBA deserves to be on the list either. It's not a BAD arena, but it has it's share of problems. IMO if you have an arena with more than 7,000 seats and it has a single concourse you are going to run in to problems. There is just not enough room for everyone and not enough room to put concessions etc. I think about the only "true" single concourse arenas I've been to that work are Joe Louis arena and Allstate Arena (I'm pretty sure it was a SC arena.) Everything else just gets too cramped.
My top 10 minor league arenas that I've been to (Overall - Service and Amenities)
1. Chevrolet Center - Youngstown, OH
2. Allen County War Memorial - Fort Wayne, IN
3. Mark of the Quad Cities (I Wireless Center) - Moline, IL
4. Sovereign Center - Reading, PA
5. Sovereign Bank Arena - Trenton, NJ
6. Rockford MetroCentre (AKA the Big Orange Building) - Rockford, IL
7. WesBanco Arena - Wheeling, WV
8. Wings Stadium - Kalamazoo, MI

3. Kettering Rec
4. UD Arena (Dosen't Have Ice)
5. Trent Arena (I've never been there and it dosen't have ice but it's gotta be better)
6. Fifth Third Field (It's a baseball stadium, but damn, we could flood it or something during the winter  )
7. Some Guy's Front Yard With a Small Pond and Little League Bleachers Around it.
8. The Columbus Fairgrounds
