Am I dyslexic, or should last night's attendance should have been more like 509, or 095?
I know people are p.o.'d about Cassy, but the lack of support is pathetic! Admittedly, I'm a hypocrite - I get PAID to watch the games from my little hole in the wall by Sections 124-125 - but I'd rather be too busy with bustling crowds to not know what's happening on the ice.
Obviously, $1 beer and Happy Hours aren't incentive enough. This is not only hurting the team, but the Arena, Centerplate, Texas Roadhouse and all of the people that work for them. I don't pretend to speak for anyone else, but 10% commission on $73 of the sales that I had last night won't cover Tyler's hockey addiction for very long ... |

Can anybody tell me what made last night "ladies night"? Also can anybody tell me why we didn't have a head coach on the bench for period three, overtime or shootout? Hey I figure we had one mascot for every 200 fans last night. |

| Why do you even have to ask why? I haven't been to a game in over six weeks and guess what-I don't miss it. The owners of this team over the last few years have run the hockey experience into the toilet. I remember the excitement of the old days-Snowbird doing his dances and other hijinks, good in between period actions, exciting plays by players who could at least pass, great promotions, radio shows and games on the radio, good announcers,.........I could go on and on. It takes more than just the game to make minor league sports work. There is no radio, no news coverage, bad announcers, poor entertainment between periods, lackluster play by the team, a mascot that looks like his head is made of dogsh...t, etc. I would love for an owner to come in here and make something happen and make me want to come back every game, but I really don't think it will happen. Personally i feel this is it as far as the Clones are concerned and the Ducks may be far behind. Prove me wrong but I was at one time an very die hard fan and the numbers and facts don't lie. Just look around and see how many "regulars" are no longer showing up.... |

I skipped last night's game and even though it went to a shootout, I don't even feel like I missed anything.
I'm with homer, the experience just isn't there any more. Both teams are in trouble. For some reason, folks are just Hockey-ignorant in this town. Or maybe we just can't have two teams. |

| The game couldn't have ended soon enough. Sloppy hockey, zero fans, no atmosphere. I remember when I used to look forward to going down to games, now it seems almost like a chore most nights. The ownership is so amazing apathetic that it isn't even worth my energy to type what needs to be done anymore. The playoff games will be exciting if we make it that far, but until then, what the hell are we supposed to do for 4 months? These games have been mindnumbing. |

Thanks for confirming what all is wrong about this city! There are individuals, including Aaron Roof, that are doing a very credible job. Yes, the head honchos may be clueless, but they are not alone!
The motto around here is "bitch, complain and walk away". The Fan Club is dying because more people would rather TELL you what needs to be done, but, God forbid, DO anything. The Holiday Party is coming up on the 15th and less than 30 tickets have been sold for it. Puck-n-Tux to benefit the Ruth Lyons Children’s Fund goes on sale the 17th. And do you think anyone will bother to show up?!?
A lot of hard work goes into supporting the team and other efforts. Personally, I spend several hours a day updating the website and promoting the Cyclones and the Fan Club internationally - and for what? In my opinion, I think it's better than most booster site and a lot of team web sites (unfortunately, including www.cycloneshockey.com).
My wife has Reserves this weekend, so I won't be able to attend tonight's game, but rest assured, I'll be online updating the progress of the game on the Scroll-board - which is not easy when you're chasing a 3-year-old hockey nut around the house!
It's people like Tyler that keep those of us that CARE going. We're going to Cyclones, Ducks, Bombers, Stars, and Cobras games just to feed his enthusiasm. He doesn't care about promotions, radio or ambiance - he wants 10 skaters and 2 goaltenders racing up and down the ice with sticks in their hands chasing a flat, round slab of vulcanized, frozen rubber (and the mascots - even Andy the Armadillo)!
The TV & radio stations, the newspapers and other media sources are anti-hockey. There are 2+ million people in the area and none of the professional teams can sell out an event. "Only" 12,000 showed up Monday for a college game featuring a Top 10 basketball team - almost that many went to Canton for a high school football game! What do we need to do around here? Put Elder's football players and UC's basketball team on skates and throw them out on the US Bank Arena ice - may then it won't be such a "chore" to watch a hockey game! |

I am tired of voicing my concerns with the management only to be given lip service, but no real action. I faxed a letter to Matt Dunne on Monday and still have not heard from him. I am not going to repeat my conerns and complaints on this board. You have heard it all before. My passion for Cyclone hockey is waning. It has nothing to do with the coach or the players, but everything to do with the arena manangement and their lack of respect for the true fans! When I miss a game, which hardly ever use to happen, I am not upset. I follow the score on the web but I can not listen to the webcast. I am sure that Aaron does a great job, but I can't listen to him. He talks way too fast or the webcast isn't clear. Either way it is easier and less annoying to just check the score. IF there is Cyclone hockey next season, I doubt that my husband and I will renew. What a shame..... |

| I think the problem is more with SportsJuice than the webcast itself. Most of the time, I have to listen to the other team's depictions of the game. That's the main reason I put ALL ECHL broadcast links on the Scroll-board section of "Other Events". Also, I reset the refresh feature to 30 seconds when I'm home for broadcasts, so people can use the Scroll-board to keep up with the action. |

| Don't get mad at us for becoming apathetic. We are only reacting. I can remember when Doug Kirchofer called me at night on two or three occasions to respond to a question or comment. That buys loyalty. This group acts as if it doesn't care. All of us can't be wrong. I applaud you for the fan club, the dinner, the website, etc, but don't jump on me for my feelings. I am not a fan club, public dinner, etc. type person. I do care on what I spend my money on and right now the Clones are not a value for the buck. Like I said look around and see who isn't there. At one time I could count at least 20-25 regulars every time I went. Now it's only around 10. Have this group prove me wrong. Put excitement back into the experience. Like it was said earlier, now it's more af a chore to go rather than something to look forward to. |

Who even knows abut these functions? I didn't. Not that I would go either way, but when no one knows there's even hockey games going on, don't you think that's a bit of a problem? I didn't attend these fan club functions back when I had a lot more interest in the team, but lumping people that post on this board as part of the problem is a bit shortsighted. If we're posting here, we obviously either a) want things to improve or b) attend games on a semi-regular basis. Just because I think it's sloppy, unwatchable hockey doesn't make me an instant problem when I call a spade a spade. I feel like walking away because i'm a capitalist and a good consumer that recognizes that I do have free will in choosing to do so if I don't feel that the money invested is being well spent. There's probably a damned good reason a whole lot of people feel the same way and are either in the process of debating whether or not it's worth it anymore or have already left. I'm obviously not in the minority on this one based on the attendence figures. And if the product is so excellent and gives people a reason to be enthusiastic, then why is no one showing up?
P.S. Good job using the reference to not being able to sell out a professional event and then quoting a bunch of non-professional teams. College and high school players aren't paid to play, hence they aren't professional. And the last two Bengals games left in the season are sold out. |

| OMG...I never thought I'd say this, but I agree with Puckhead! It's Friday night, I'm a full season ticket holder and I'm not at the game. It's just not fun anymore. I wouldn't know Matt Dunne if he came up and smacked me in the face! To me, that's a problem. I have tried to support the team but I just don't think anyone in the upper management cares. This makes me so sad. I love hockey and the Cyclones. This could very well be my last season. I don't even feel like the players care. I also agree with Homer regarding the sloppy play. They can't pass, handle the puck and where in the hell is the defense! I feel bad for Randy. He's been playing very well lately and gets no support from his teammates. If I were Matt Dunne, I'd call some kind of meeting for his season ticket holders only. There would have to be some kind of check to prove they are a season ticket holder. I'm sure everyone has concerns, but the season ticket holders are the ones that took a chance on this season and spent a lot of money. Would I take my money if it was offered back to me.....absolutely. I'm waiting for the Swarm to start. It's fun there! |
