Montreal Canadiens GM Bob Gainey has contacted Chicago Blackhawks GM Stan Bowman about acquiring the stepson of former WHA Stingers thug Dale Smedsmo, right wing/defenseman Dustin Byfuglien.
The Blackhawks are also interested in acquiring goaltender Jaroslav Halak from Montreal but cannot make a deal for Halak until they find a taker for ex-Habs netminder Christobal Huet.
Reading this, makes me wonder just how many 'other' sons of former Stingers there are that picked up a hockey stick.
Starting to feel really old now! Was bad enough when Ftoreks' son was a member of the Cyclones. For I can remember him running around the arena as a little tyke! lol
