I'm guessing he's referring to the AHL Ducks signing an agreement with Anaheim. I hadn't heard the length of the agreement...

Now the $1 million dollar question? Will it matter next year? If there's a lockout for the whole year next season, Anaheim, Carolina, Buffalo, and Pittsburgh could all go the way of the Dodo bird. These four teams are definitely on the bubble financially so I can't imagine a year with no revenues will help matters.

Any thoughts on what the AHL season (and for that matter the ECHL season) will look like next year? I know the commissioner has guaranteed there will be a season next year, but I have to believe that a good number of players on two way contracts will be reluctant to cross a picket line. Being a rookie is bad enough, can you imagine being a rookie in the NHL and being labeled as a scab? I also believe that AHL players are members of the NHLPA, of course I might be wrong. Anyone know?

Jim needs to delete everyone's accouns and have people reapply once they've passed some grammar tests. I'm not even going to attempt to read the first message. I think a lot from this page on Maddox's site can help shed some light on it:

I agree that the NHL is in for some changes, and if we see a lockout that there's some franchises that won't be back, and frankly hockey will be better for it. The NHL doesn't need to do the same thing MLB did and puss out when they have a chance to fix things and spread the talent they have too thinly between the clubs. Call Paul at the NFL and ask him how to fix it, he knows what the hell he's doing. Old Buddy Selig is the worst commissioner in the history of baseball and currently has a league with teams full of people that should never be in the majors (or even AAA) and way too much disparity between team payrolls and incomes. If there's a NHL lockout for any extended period of time I hope that at least when the smoke clears that the problems are fixed no matter what it takes and we see some structure for all the economic issues.
