Yep. The Cincinnati Gardens, former home of the AHL Mighty Ducks, is getting a new team! The Cincinnati Commandos!

Set to play in the Continental Indoor Football League this will be Cincy's fifth attempt at an arena football franchise and the Gardens first after the Rockers, Marshalls, Swarm and Jungle Kats all disappeared after calling the Rivefront Coliseum/Bank Arena home. Anyone ever attend arena football at US Bank in the past? Any good? I'm skeptical of this league, but tickets look cheap. |

| Honestly I am happy that the Gardens has found something to fill the void since the Ducks players went to Portland, and the Franchise was sold to Rockford. The problem is indoor football has not been a good idea in the city, and the league isnt solid but yes I hope for the best to the new team |

| Arena Football is fun. Don't expect NFL caliber plays or talent. Also don't expect Division I talent from college. A lot of ex Bearcats and Redskins will play but not the great ones. They get paid something around 200 bucks a game, and play for the love of it. It is fun to watch if you just are out to have a good time. |

It's a fun time and I will go to a handfull
of games. the JKats were a Fun time. I was sad
to see them go. But I have the new team now.

Arena Football Rules!!! But the Commandos still went by the wayside after their coach ditched them and went to Texas... besides, they were only good because they kept playing fly-by-night teams with rosters made as recently as an hour before the game... I worked for them in their first year, and believe me that was the case... one team fired their kicker and brought in a girl to kick for them and I watched her sign her contract right as I was helping them get settled... the same team already used a girl kicker before... another team was so terrible I nearly got fired because I couldnt control their complete inability to keep the ball on the field...
All the same, folks, let's face it... Arena Football will never ever succeed in Cincinnati... we are cursed as far as a sustainable competitive indoor team is concerned... face facts, the Bengals are our only hope... |
