Would I be correct in guessing that this is referring to Darryl Bootland?

Hockey is life. All the rest is just small stuff.

Yes, he bolted for Europe along with Francis Lemieux of the Griffins.

Nobody here was surprised. He played like bonkers at the start of the season and was just completely dominant, and when Manitoba returned him after his long call-up he pretty much coasted most games. He clearly didn't want to be back in the ECHL and thought he was going to stick again in Manitoba.

I saw him before the Cincy game when he was signing autographs for the Wings' kids club and he was easily the most-outgoing one, talking to every single kid that came by. It's a shame, he blew a really great opportunity in Kalamazoo. People liked him and his fire. Honestly, his loss to Manitoba and then of motivation is a lot of what began to give the Wings trouble into the season.

Expect to see more of Legault in the lineup from now on. Especially if Legault can put more games together like he had against Cincy. The Wings can still ice a line with Willis, Legault, and Jurynec if the situation warrants...
