I just wanted to see if any flet the same way i do
about the "game worn jerseys" that the sell at the merch
booth at the game. do you think they are really game worn?
The resaon i ask b/c i bought my wife the St Denis one and like another poster said there wasn't even no wear to it. I found one black
mark(real small)on the arm. but nothing else. Then the other night they had another St. Denis(no Kelly Cup patch) and they said that was game worn too. Don't they just sow a patch on the red one they have and not make up a whole new jeresy? Woud would think they would to save the team money. Any help in this matter would be great. Thanks

Which # St Denis did you buy, and was the new one a different number? Im pretty sure I recall seeing both a #9 and #3 St. Denis at the merch booth. I am the one who mentioned the nearly no wear. I wouldnt be surprised if they added his name plate back to the the #9 jersey and sold them both as his, which technically they were, even though he might not have been the last person to wear said number.

I do believe they are game worn, some of them show good wear. I was able to pickup a Van Guilder Red w/A that had some good wear. The shoulder patches and elbows have multiple burns/holes in them. Unless you can photo match it to a game, you can never be 100% sure.

What I dont like about the Merch Booth game worns is they refuse to tell you what other jersey's they have in the back. They will tell you there are more back there, but they wont say who's, and they wont put up more until one sells. I bought my MvG jersey right at 630 when i walked into the arena, when I left they had another players jersey up for sale. I ask them every single game to let me know what they have in back as im willing to spend money to buy more, but they never tell me

I purchased a game worn (Paul Lynch) for my wife and the jersey shows no wear that I can find. Based on when he got hurt last year he couldn't have worn it more than twice.

From what I understand there are two sets of jerseys. The first set is sent to Meigray for sale and the second is up to the team to sell. The first set is worn until the jersey change over in January when the second set takes over. The playoff jerseys are the second set with any appropriate patches added. If the team makes the Kelly Cup new jerseys are made up and then sent to Meigray after the playoffs (to be sold with the appropriate mark up)

Why they won't tell you what they have is a mystery. Maybe the team distributes them one at a time to the mechandise booth so he may not know what is coming next or whats still available. I know when I saw the Lynch jersey for sale I knew I had better buy it right then or it wouldn't be there when I came back.

The post game auction ones are the only ones that you REALLY know the history on. But my wife picked up MacDonald's Kelly Cup championship game worn at the kick-off auction the following season. It OBVIOUSLY truly game worn. Holes, rips and all.

Yes, I grew up playing hockey... In Alabama.
