Do you ever think it would help the Blue Jackets to grow a fanbase/reach out to the regional markets by playing a home game or two in the other major Ohio cities of Cincinnati and Cleveland? Both cities have facilities which could host an NHL game and I think it be a great way to make people in those markets aware of the boys in Columbus.
Thoughts? |

it'd be beneficial to the bluejackets, but i don't know if the NHL would approve of it. my opinion is based on nothing but pure speculation, though.
btw getting connected to minor league teams down here and in clevo would probably be a very good idea. if they took over the 'clones and a club in clevo (don't know what they have up there right now), that'd be extremely helpful... they'd have bases in both cities regularly promoting them... |

I've noticed that the clones tv commercial seems to air heavily during Blue Jackets broadcasts. However, I don't know (pure speculation) if they could cross promote with the minor league teams in those cities as those teams have affiliations with other NHL teams. I think it would be a good idea though. Maybe on a Blue Jackets off night they send a few guys down to drop the puck and sign some autographs in Cincy.
Thanks for the reponse!
The Cleveland minor league team is the Lake Eerie Monsters of the American Hockey League btw. |

i do remember when the Cyclones were the affiliate of the Florida Panthers they did a preseason double header at the Gardens, at the time Ed Jovanovski was their big draft pick. it was a cool event and i would like to see that happen in the four other hockey cities in ohio, but Bluejackets brass has stated that its not cost effective for them to do anything outside of columbus. |
