I'm new here so excuse me if I posted this in the wrong place. My son and I have attended quite a few games at USBA so far this season and have seen quite a few good crowds ranging from 4500 to almost 11000. My question Is what is a sellout here? Even with the great crowds, little if any mention is given on the ECHL web site about it although other teams reach 5500-6000 and claim sellout crowds with obvious mention on the ECHL web site about their great attendence numbers. |

I think the capacity is listed as 7000 or something like that even though there are 15000 seats. The 7k is the lower bowl, so I guess when the lower bowl is sold out then it would be an official sell-out, although they would still sell seats in the upper bowl. Not 100% sure how it works, but it's something like that. Welcome to the board!!! |

Well in a case like Elmira, their building only holds 3784 max. They actually were selling SRO tickets for much of the season, and I believe spent about half of it actually averaging OVER their sellout mark. That impressive regardless because of their small market size.
The Cyclones list capacity on the ECHL website as 6995. That's the mark that's been set to be considered a sellout.
In Kalamazoo, we hold 5113 exactly. If they reach that or over, it's a sellout. I believe the max they'll go is 5413 (300 SRO tickets).
Charlotte apparently does the same thing the Cyclones do at USBA, and they'll open up an upper bowl of seating if ticket demand requires it. However, the official capacity for both only consists of lower-level seating.
Then there's Toledo, who confused me a few weeks ago with their attendance reporting but it turns out they're tinkering with max capacity/tickets sold that they can hold in the new building. So their official capacity is about 7431, but they've reported sellouts as 8000, as 8200, and I think they even tried 8400 once to see how bad it would be (apparently it was pretty bad). |

US Bank Arena is larger than a typical minor league hockey venue. Anything around the 6 to 7K mark is very good attendance. Every now and then there is a 10K crowd but its rare, and IIRC the Kelly Cup final game from the year before last was a complete sellout (ie-zero tickets available).
