quote: Originally posted by King Of The Monkeys Now however, there are several comments about the size of the crowds last night. Sure the crowd was small, but I think it was all core Cyclones fans that love the team and appreciate the game. There is not a lot we as individuals can do to influence the size of the crowd, so I will just continue to come to the games and root as loudly as I can. On the bright side, the crowd was really loud in relation to its size, and it was great to run the the bathroom, stop by the concession stand, and be back in my seat in 5 minutes. And though the players were certainly disappointed by the size of the crowd, they seemed appreciative of us as well.
Awesome first post.
Had the same problem in Kalamazoo last night. 1400 showed up to watch the Wings edge out Reading in OT. That's far lower than any crowd this entire regular season.
Wings fans aren't used to Tues. night games, and short notice for playoff schedule hurts at first as well. It amazing how many people you can take out of an arena and not lose atmosphere if those remaining are real fans though.
Give it another game or two and people will come, across the board. This happens, every year. It's minor hockey. |
