CF7180 - I appreciate your enthusiasm, and dedication, but finding anyone else as cocky about this team as you is going to be a hard sell.
I saw the 2008 Clones Kelly Cup team, and the Clones 2009 team that left the playoffs early. In my opinion, this team is closer in talent to last years team than to the champs. If we still had all of this years guys that are still in the AHL, and all the injured guys, and Scott Reynolds, I may think different. We do seem to have a key ingredient - a hot goalie - but I just don't see us as a lock for anything. But at this point, I am not looking past the next game and I am excited to keep watching hockey.
I love hockey and I love the Cyclones, but this isn't my first trip around the block either.

Just occurred to me--if Cyclones beat Charlotte, we have home ice advantage for the finals no matter who wins the Florida/Reading series. First things first but it would be a big help if we get there.
By the way--check out their website. Ticket prices for 2nd round are $37-$20 per ticket!!!! |

I have to agree with you Scott ("king"). This team is not 2008 or even 2009. I gave this team almost no chance of coming out of SC with two of three, but Chuck is the master of getting the most. However, the thing I feared may have actually saved us. SC also didn't get the rest in the series and didn't make the adjustment for their play. This round we must get at least two of our guns back and some kind of back-up goalie. Don't forget, in 2008 Cedrick failed in the semi's and Max bailed us out. My hope is to split games one and two and take at least two of three here. We have a chance if we only need one of the last two. Lets hope we can avoid any more injuries and get some much needed help from above. |

Bags, if you are referring to help from Milwaukee or Hamilton, I wouldn't hold my breath. Mayer won't be back any time soon and I don't see them getting knocked off early in the playoffs. Milwaukee on the other hand would rather our guys ride the bench than send them here. Hopefully we might get Motherwell back but I wouldn't count on anything else. I'd say we are pretty much on our own from here on out. |

Whoever said Charlotte's number 1 seed for a reason, implying they are somehow better, is silly if you ask me since the Clones had more regulation wins and the Checkers only won the first seed by a couple points difference. The Clones are really a #1 seed (since we had the MOST regulation wins) that ended up #5 because of more OT points for other teams, and Ryan Munce is a 7 year ECHL guy with a 3.61 career GAA in the playoffs... I think we will be fine and I think it's a bit of a fluke that Charlotte is a 1 seed since the Clones would be the 1 seed in a more accurate point system. |

I started following the Cyclones during the Kelly Cup Year and this years team definately is not as potient. I don't mean that as an insult, just fact. This years team has a lot of grit, so lets go out ad play one game at a time and hope for a positive outcome. |

Please get off of MKE's back. Yes, they have a history of not playing guys that could be here. However, the Admirals are very thin right now and both Van Guilder and Cashman are playing. I don't see them getting help, with Nashville in the playoffs and dealing with their own short bench, but if they do get help/healthy and they choose to sit MVG and Cashman rather than sending them back then by all means bitch away. For right now though there is no reason to.
The internet scuttlebutt is that Sanford hasn't even skated yet, so his return is no longer imminent hence the College kid that Chuck has mentioned bringing in.
On a positive note, both MKE and Bridgeport trail in their series. MKE didn't exactly look great in giving up 6 goals. Bridgeport had an early lead but couldn't put Hersey away. |

I am not backing off on my opinion of this team, but I will say that I think the best thing that could have happened after the SC series is to get back a healthy, experienced defenseman like Motherwell who brings pop and intensity to the ice. If I could have chosen just one player to get back, it would have been him. More offense is always a good thing, but with a physical team like Char and a team built around defense like the Clones, this is really good news. Next on my wish list would be to get Jozsa healthy, then Mayer, then MVG, then Cashman. |

Seems that you are assuming Motherwell will be back. Yes he was released by Bridgeport but that doesn't mean he will automatically be back. Depends on the type of contract he has and if he wants to. Lacroix was assigned by Hamilton as they have control of him. Motherwell signed a PTO with Bridgeport and was released. He was not loaned to them I don't believe. Don't know if he any contractual obligation to Cyclones to return. Could be he just wants to end the season. It is now seven hours to game time and nothing on Cyclones or ECHL sites about him. Lets hope he does but not seeing any announcement bothers me |

But why would Chuck put him on the playoff roster if Motherwell had no intention of coming. You would think that Chuck would have checked with him before he put him name on that list.
Also what happened to Coghlan? He did not may the playoff list any ideas why? I know he went on the IR in the middle of March but from there I can't remember. |
