| I have just returned from Fort Wayne. I wish we could get 1/10th the support the Komets get from the community. Every single store sign in town had LETS GO KOMETS! Plastered on it. I wore a Cyclones t-shirt, and every waitress we had asked if we were going to the game tonight to watch the finals. The whole city was excited. We went shopping Saturday afternoon, and almost everyone had a Komets jersey, or sweatshirt on. Could you imagine that kind of support for beloved Cyclones here? |

I know what you are saying but you are comparing apples to oranges. If you put a major league baseball and major league football team in Fort Wayne, then you could compare. We had close to that support media way before the hockey wars killed the media. Unless our management will choose to dump large amounts of money on radio broadcasts on a full time basis and large advertisements in the papers and the tv, we will remain small headlines. Now if you were comparing Fort Wayne to Wheeling or Toledo, now you have apples to apples. Still, my hat is off to the people of Fort Wayne for their love of the team. |

Fort Wayne really is amazing in its support of the Komets.
I'll go out on a limb and say that next season Cyclone fans will have ample opportunity to make road trips to FTW. The IHL is dying and the league has made no commitment for next season. I'm looking for an announcement that the Komets will be joining the ECHL shortly after the IHL playoffs end. |

| That would be great if FW joined the ECHL. It'd be just like old times making the roadtrip to FW. Great classic arena and awesome fan support. My first time there was in 1994 for an eastern conf. finals game between FW and the Cyclones. I was amazed at the support they have for their team. It's really the only team they have in FW so everyone supports them. |

The folks in Fort Wayne do show tremendous support for the Komets, but as others have stated, comparing them to our situation doesn't make sense. The Komets are the only option in Fort Wayne.
As far as the Komets joining the ECHL. I don't see it happening unless there is a management/ownership change. The Franks like to be in control and the fans may not support an affiliated League. The writing may be on the wall for the Franks but I don't think they are interested in reading it. History would indicate that they would rather support the League and be in charge of it than to give up control and join the ECHL. The IHL has had issues since the Franks ressurrected it to replace the failing UHL. I would imagine they will keep supporting it until there are no other midwest based teams to pilfer from lower leagues like the AAHL. |

| The Komet fans I spoke to know their league is a dead league. A lot of them said see you next year. They have a lot of hope that the Frankes will do the right thing, and join a more stable league. It will be great to go to Ft Wayne to watch my beloved Cyclones. |

The only way the Komets are in the ECHL next season is if someone else owns a pro hockey franchise there. There are other issues besides control that are a concern (and a problem) for the Franke's when it comes to joining another league.
The IHL will be back next year. Dayton has made an offer to fill its opening for a head coach and GM, and has extended offers to some pretty good people to fill key positions in its front office. There is a group that is close to making an offer to buy the Flint franchise. The league will have at least six teams for 2010-11.
