The following email is being sent out by Mark Hardin - assistant coach of UC's club team and one of the newest members of the GCBC.

Please send this to as many hockey enthusiast as possible.

In case you do not realize it we still do not have a Professional Hockey Team in Cincinnati yet. If you do not know what that means to us please read this message I am sending.

Without a team in the Gardens the owners, the Robinsons have already made it known that they can not afford to keep the ice rinks in operation. That means every team at the Gardens will now have to compete for ice time at Northland, Sportsplus and Northern Kentucky's rink. The youth leagues and High Schools will get ice time prior to groups like the adult league. It has been predicted that if this does happen that adult leagues will not start until after midnight. You can see where that is going to leave us.

In order for the Railraiders to come to Cincinnati at least 2000 season tickets needs to be secured by early March. They are only half way there. To secure season tickets requires a $25.00 deposit. The Robinsons have elected not to publicize information that makes it sound as if they are holding the town hostage as other sports groups have done, so most people are not hearing the urgency and necessity of purchasing season tickets.

Everyone who is trying to get the sport of hockey to grow in the Cincinnati should understand what happens in the absence of a professional team. I know Columbus has a grade higher professional team but look at what the Blue Jackets has done for the ongoing development of all levels of hockey in Columbus.

If you know of anyone that can help this situation by purchasing season tickets please relay this information to them ASAP. There may be multiple ways that you can help. Such as; if a group of you want to go in together and split the season, let your family or friends know of this situation, or any business you may know that is willing to purchase a season ticket. A business can buy the tickets and give them to a non-profit organization for a tax write off. If these tickets are not secured, hockey in Cincinnati as we know it today will change drastically for two reasons. One is without a profession team in the area the interest in hockey slips and two without the two sheets of ice at the Gardens we lose a third of our ice in Cincinnati, this includes Northern Kentucky.

Below are two websites you can visit to find ways you can help. www.bluelinersclub.com and www.railraiders.com

If you go to the Railraiders site to community and then to hockey House parties, they can explain how you can host a house party as a venue to sell season tickets.

If you have any questions please contact me ASAP, time is running out.

Please forward this message on to as many hockey fans you can think of, ASAP

Thank you,

Mark Hardin
