I'm sure there are those who will correct me if I am wrong, but talking to him a few times the last couple years it is my impression he has been offered assistant jobs in the AHL before. He has declined them before and while he didn't come out and say it, he indicated he would rather be a head coach in the ECHL than an assistant in the "A".
Obviously I'm sure it would be contingent on what the offer consisted of. |

This is what I like about Chuck, he is true to his words, yes he wants to leave Cincinnati and move up to the AHL like his players, yes he eventually wants to end up in the NHL just like his players do, but he wont leave Cincinnati unless he is a head coach in the American Hockey League and quite frankly I would not blame him for staying in Cincinnati because an AHL team offers him only an Assistants job, Chuck is a proven winner at this level as a head coach, if I was an AHL team I would be calling him for a head job, and if it doesnt happen he will be back behind the bench at US Bank Arena next season. |
