Goin' Fishing Friday: The Cyclones will meet the Toledo Walleye for the first time in 2010-11 and hope for better success than they had a year ago. Last season, Cincinnati went just 3-7-1 in 11 meetings with their I-75 rivals, including a 2-3-0 mark at the Huntington Center.

...This Time it Counts: This Saturday night, the 'Clones will open up their home slate when they welcome in the Wheeling Nailers to U.S. Bank Arena. The two teams squared off in a pair of games during an abbreviated preseason schedule....with both teams earning big wins on their home ice. Wheeling took the first game by a 4-1 score while Cincinnati won 5-1 the following night at Northland Ice Center. In 2009-10, the Cyclones posted a 7-4-1 record against the Nailers -
4 of those 7 wins coming at. U.S. Bank Arena.

Scouting the Walleye: Toledo comes into the weekend in search of its first home win of the season after back-to-back lopsided loses. Despite winning their season opener 4-0 at Wheeling, the Walleye were beat on their home ice by 6-0 and 7-2 scores. Toledo's two leading scorers from a year ago are now elsewhere - Maxime Tanguay (who led the Walleye with 69 points last season) is now with the Alaska Aces and J.C. Sawyer (59 points) is here in Cincinnati. There absences have been felt...the Walleye are tied for a league worst 6 goals scored.

Scouting the Nailers: Wheeling has come shooting out of the gate, leading the North Division with a 4-1-0 record. They've gotten great performance from both offense and defense early on. Wheeling's 18 goals-scored are second most in the ECHL while goaltender Patrick Killeen has posted a 1.63 GAA - earning him Goalie of the Week accolades last week.
