Cyclones Trade Chris Morehouse to Greenville for Future Considerations

CINCINNATI, Ohio The 2010 Kelly Cup Champion Cincinnati Cyclones, proud affiliate of the NHLs Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators, announced today that have traded forward Chris Morehouse to the Greenville Road Warriors in exchange for future considerations.

Morehouse, who is playing in his second professional season, appeared in 44 games for the Cyclones collecting 8 points (4 goals and 4 assists) with 116 penalty-minutes. He finished second on the 2009-10 Cyclones with 102 minutes in the sin-bin. Prior to going pro, the five-foot-nine, 180-pound native of Saint John, New Brunswick played three seasons (2005-06 through 2007-08) with the Moncton Wildcats (QMJHL). During that stretch, he played in 184 games and picked up 36 goals and 68 assists and 450 penalty minutes. He was also involved in 29 fights during his time in the QMJHL.

The defending Kelly Cup Champion Cyclones open their home schedule this Saturday night at U.S. Bank Arena against the Wheeling Nailers at 7:30pm. In addition to $1 John Morrell hot dogs, the first 10,000 fans through the gate will receive a free 2010-11 Magnetic Schedule courtesy of Hometown Sports and Collectibles. Discounted ticket packages and single game tickets for the 2010-2011 season are available now. For more information, call 513.421.PUCK (7825) or visit CyclonesHockey.com.

I've been cautious not to pass judgment on Skalde.. I really want to give him a chance.. but I have to admit he's not inspiring a lot of confidence with me so far.

See ya Chris. I'm going to hate to face you and Voakes under Stork's command.

Holy Crap!!! I'm a little speechless right now. I've learned not to get to attached a player, but I really liked Morehouse. I hate to see this!

Like him too for his grit and hustle but 8 points in 44 games doesn't help much and they seem to have other enforcers on the roster.

Morehouse IS NOT an enforcer. He has a very specific role as an agitator and energy guy and he is excellent at it.

I can promise you that we are going to HATE playing against him.

Yes, I grew up playing hockey... In Alabama.

Looks like Morehouse was a victim of the numbers.

With the two send downs, the roster was getting pretty crowded. While I'm sorry to see him go, the Cyclones got to close the future considerations owed Greenville and were able to send him to an organization where he is known and wanted.
