Sydney Crosby scored two goals but former Cincinnati Mighty Duck Chris Kunitz was named the game's first star with three assists in Pittsburgh's 5-2 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs on Wednesday night. It was the 11th straight win for the Penguins, coached by former AHL Mighty Ducks left wing and assistant coach Dan Bylsma.
Kunitz extended his point streak to four games, during which he's scored a goal while adding six assists. He's also a plus-10 in his last six.
Signed as an undrafted free agent out of Ferris State by Anaheim and beginning his professional career here in the Queen City in 2003, Kunitz has gone on to become a bonafide top-six forward in the NHL, playing on the first line for a Stanley Cup winner in Anaheim in 2007 and Pittsburgh in 2009. He continues to be a vital cog for the Penguins as the left wing on the club's top line with Crosby. |
