And started off with a bang tonight as the Cyclones defeated the Dayton Bombers 4-1. There was also a shootout after the game in which the teams tied with 1 goal a piece.

I would rate the game as A- with only the trouble in clearing
the puck out of our own end being a problem.Despite that the goalie
looked great and the passing was almost the level I've seen in the
past after 10 or 15 games!Too bad the refs chose to call every penalty
because it was rare to see 5 on 5 hockey.Another minor negative was our
announcer needs to pick the excitement up a little but it was great to
actually understand what was being announced.Can't wait for Oct. 20th |

Great game last night!
On the announcer... Yes, he needs to add a bit more (well... A LOT more) excitement to his delivery. As far as understanding what he was saying... Over in my area (140) it was very difficult to FULLY understand what he was saying. We'd catch a word or two, but for the most part it was like one of Charlie Brown's teachers. I think if they'd add a little more bass to his voice, it would help greatly!
I did however miss the rumblings of Wildman though. Over the years my ears had tuned into his voice.

Who scored in the shootout for Cincinnati?
The scoreboard showed 1-0 Cincy before the first player even took the ice. |

There was some contraversy over the goal while listening to it on the broadcast, but it was the first Clones shootout player that was creditied for it, I forget who it was. |

Hey jevers,I would call up the Cyclones and ask them about the speakers on
your side.We are over in 125 near the top and it sounded great.Knock on wood
the new management does seem to listen to questions and ideas.As for the shootout,
we left after the game because we won and I didn't want to take a chance of
Dayton winning it and their fans rubbing it in!! My props for the Dayton fans
that came down and who ever came up with the shootout idea.This is preseason so
why not let the teams practice it. |

I'll say one thing, if you managed to "tune in" Wildman's voice you're better
than I ever was!!If there was one thing that really brought hockey back on
Wednesday,it was hearing "HOWIE" during the speed version of the national
anthem.At that point I knew the Cyclones were back. Maybe we could get the
Clones to tape "The Mystics" doing the anthem for games without a singer. |

Am I the only one who is confused over telling the refs "You Suck" before the game
or a call is made? Nothing like getting on their good side before the game starts.
Oh well,nothing like the fun of Cyclones hockey! |

Where I sit in Section 120, it was difficult to hear. But I agree that hearing "Howie!" was awesome. It had been so long, I had forgotten about that. The same is true with "Hey Wildman, how much time is left?"
The good memories flooded back, and it felt like yesterday.
I noticed on ECHL.com they list the capacity of USBA at 6955. Does that mean that only the lower bowl will be sold? If so there may be a good chance to pack the arena. I have heard a lot of buzz from people who are not hockey fanatics excited to see the Cyclones back. |

Indeed, only the lower bowl is sold for Cyclones games, that is why the seating capacity on the ECHL webiste seems like such a low number compared to what the arena actually holds. |
