So----did the league give the ref a specific quota of penalties he had to call, and did he use them all up by the beginning of the 3rd period???
Talk about a contrast... |

Story of the game ... we pretty much played on the penalty kill the whole game (especially that brutal second period) and still nearly outshot them the whole time ... which is why I think we have nothing to hang our heads about for that game. I was hoping Dejardins would be in net since Grumet-Morris played in the last game but I guess since he was hot they wanted to continue. I'm not going to comment on if the ref's numerous calls were legit or not because I really don't know, but it did seem like a hell of a lot. Good to see Jonhson back in the lineup and he played very hard. The Gajda-Urqhart line has easily turned into our playmaking line.
Good game tonight despite the last minute goal to spoil it. |

| I missed the game last night. Might not make the next couple home games but can't wait to see them in action again. Looks like the team plays till the last horn. All I ask for is a team that hustles all 60 minutes. |

I just hope that all this stop/start with the number of penalties called doesn't drive people away. Even though they lost, the 3rd period was so much more entertaining than the other two because the ref finally let them play.
The crowd was pretty sparse last night. Haven't seen too much in terms of promotion. If I hadn't checked the schedule on their website, I wouldn't have known there was a game.
I agree-they gave 60 minutes worth of effort! |

Disaster night in many ways.First we lost on a last minute goal.Second,the referees
ruined the flow of the game with too many penalties against both teams. Third,we
dipped to the THREE DIGIT level of attendance. If only we could get some better
news coverage like a photo from the game in the papers or a little coverage on the
tv news.Here is the box from last night:

| That certaily wouldn't hurt ... bu-t it looks like the only thing we are getting in the paper is the three sentence game recap on the B2 page under the "diest" section. |
