Cyclones Battle Reading Royals in First Round of Kelly Cup Playoffs
CINCINNATI, Ohio - The 2010 Kelly Cup Champion Cincinnati Cyclones, proud affiliate of the NHL's Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators, announced today that they will face the second-seeded Reading Royals in the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals.
The Cyclones, who earned this year's seventh-seed, will face the Royals in a best-of-five series beginning Tuesday night in Reading, Pennsylvania. The game schedule is as follows:
Game 1 at Reading Tuesday, April 5 - 7:05pm Game 2 at Reading Wednesday, April 6 - 7:05pm Game 3 at Cincinnati Friday, April 8 - 7:30pm Game 4 at Cincinnati Saturday, April 9 - 7:30pm (if necessary) Game 5 at Reading Monday, April 11 - 7:05pm (if necessary)
This season against the Royals, the Cyclones earned points in all four meetings – posting a 1-0-2-1 record. It will be the third time in four years that Cincinnati and Reading have met in the postseason. Last spring, the Cyclones mounted an extraordinary comeback to become the sixth team in professional hockey history to rally from a 3-0 deficit to win a best-of-seven playoff series. Cincinnati’s all-time postseason record against the Royals stands at 8-6.
Fans can hear all the action of every Kelly Cup Playoff game on the Cyclones Radio Network. Coverage of Game 1 can be heard on MAX-FM (99.5 FM) beginning Tuesday night at 6:50pm.
The defending Kelly Cup Champions will return to U.S. Bank Arena this Friday, April 8 when they host the Royals in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals at 7:30pm. Friday's contest will also feature $1 Donatos Pizza slices. If necessary, Game 4 will be on Saturday night at U.S. Bank Arena and will feature $1 John Morrell hot dogs. 2011 Kelly Cup Playoff tickets and 2011-12 season tickets are on sale NOW! Must be nice to have affiliates that will actually send you some players. I understand Milwaukee is going to the playoffs but Rochester isn't going anywhere. Reading got the same thing last year but fortunately for the Cyclones it didn't work out. |
...And on the eighth day, GOD created the Cyclones! |
