Former Cincinnati Swords & Stingers star and Cincinnati Hockey Hall of Fame member Rick Dudley will apparently not accompany the Atlanta Thrashers to their new home in Winnipeg, Manitoba as the club's general manager.
Kevin Cheveldayoff is the front runner to become the new GM of the yet to be named Winnipeg franchise.
Dudley, who spent two seasons with the Swords (1971-73) and parts of four seasons with the Stingers (1975-79), is considered one of the best evaluators of hockey talent in the world. There will be a number of teams interested in adding him to its hockey operations department. It would not surprise me to see him re-join the Florida Panthers organization where he once served as GM, working as a pro scout for current Panthers GM Dale Tallon. |
