Time for a plug:
On Saturday, December 23, 2006, the Cincinnati Cyclones will host the Wheeling Nailers at USBA. That night has been designated "Teddy Bear Toss" night by the Cyclones.
Fans are asked to bring new or gently-used stuffed animals to the game that night. When the Cyclones score their first goal of the evening, fans will be invited to throw their stuffed toys onto the ice!
If you don't have time to pick up something to bring, a number of teddy bears will be available at locations around USBA that night for a donation.
All toys and a portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center and other local children's charities.
"Teddy Bear Toss" nights involving other area hockey teams (Jr. Cyclones, UC Hockey Bearcats, NKU, Miami U, Xavier U, and some local high schools) are being finalized for January/February 2007.
Please tell your friends and invite them to come to the 12/23 game at USBA, and bring as many toys as you can bring to brighten the lives of some children who could use a little sunshine!

Does anybody else remember the "Teddy Bear Toss" night when the two teams
were 0-0 after regulation,0-0 after the overtime period and finally scored
in the shootout when half the people started tossing them on after the first
shootout player scored! |

lol, I don't remember that one! I have seen one game where the home team got shut out and they did the toss after the game, but never one that went past a regular overtime.
Any idea what league this was? Not many leagues have done shootouts after overtime ties for very long. |

| Me and my party will certainly bring teddys to toss ... I was at the Dayton game Saturday and was glad to see a good turnout with it there, and from what I heard Reading's went well also when we played them last Wednesday. Hope eveything works out well. |

The league was the IHL and it was the Cyclones playing!I'm not sure if it was
at the Garden's or the Arena,but I think it was the "Firststar Center" era.This
is not a "I heard about story" but one "I was at story". |

| The 0-0 game was at the Firstar but I'm not sure if it was in the IHL or the first ECHL season. I do remember that game now that you mentioned it. I had totally forgot about that. That is a great story though, almost unbelievable unless you were there. |

The IHL never had overtime. They went straight to a shootout, so it must have been in the ECHL if there was an overtime.
I would love to see the Clones do this same benefit for the Free Store Food Bank. I would gladly donate a dozen farm fresh eggs, some fresh tomatoes, and cans of soup for that game. |

Thanks WDD for also remembering.I started going to games the second
year and the stories we can tell of the crazy things that have happened.
This is the killer when we can't get this attendance up for the games
this year.I wonder if a "Wildman" bobblehead could be made it time for
a late season game?If so, a heavy promotion and at least 6000 to be given
out could probably get us a sell out for sure and the remainder
(if any) could be sold through the Cyclone's web site. |

That has to be one of the most frightening things ever. Who made those? It kindof looks like a McFarlain Hanson Brothers figure modification.
The figure doesnt bobble though, it appears.
A Wildman Bobble with some WEBN backing would be nice. Is he still there? |
