Swider has been an amazing player for the Knoxville Ice Bears but he is 33 years old so hopefully his age can help at a higher step of play and Klaver is a rookie for the Ice Bears. Expect a full release from Nick soon. |

| So I guess the center that lives over in Northern Kentucky isn't good enough, we have to bring in a 33 year old SPHLer. Sad |

| Swider has pretty nice numbers in the SPHL. I hope his skills translate to the ECHL, but the game is a lot faster here. Perhaps his experience will allow him to pick up the system quickly. He may also appreciate being here, so he'll likely really bust his hump to stay up here. |

He is like what Ehgoetz should be, a Cincinnati lifer, Swider is a Knoxville lifer and the team down there appreciates his commitment. Swider has only played 5 games in this league because he enjoys Knoxville.....which I do not blame him, its a great place with great surroundings! Dont be surprised its just a 1 or 2 game fill in. |

So either nobody really does have the balls to call Barrett or he told them to piss off.
Which one is it? Because you can't remotely convince me that a 30something SPHLer is a better option.
This is just sad.

| He (Swider) just had a timely goal. Sounds like a great game as USBA. |

| No one appreciates what Barrett did more than I do, but the truth is that he was not only a left over but the Captain from the prior teams and prior system which did us no good trying to play within last year. This year's team is playing an entirely different system, whether good or bad, but it is Skalde's system. You never take the "C" away from someone so he would have been trying to insert a new system with a Captain who might not have wanted to, or been able to, play within it. We don't know what transpired between the two last year but obviously Skalde felt that Barrett couldn't or wouldn't fit the system either mentally or physically and that is entirely his decision to make. On the other hand, I think this new system fits Aubin much better and he looks renewed on the ice. |
