What happened with the beer pyramid in Section 120 during the second intermission?

I was chatting with a friend, and when I looked up; two people were being escorted out. Then a third person was escorted out with people clapping and looking mad at him.

I was just wondering what happened...

There was a dude that kept trying to make the can pyramid super-sized, but for various reasons it kept falling down on him. He was finally over it when it collapsed on him again, and he swiped at the few remaining cans that were still standing. Well, I guess some leftover beer from a couple cans spattered on a couple guys, and they, thinking it was Thunderdome, decided to walk over to pyramid guy after he sat back down to try to start a fight with him. One of those guys at the very least did a little shoulder shoving on pyramid guy, who was not retaliating. Eventually, the two Thunderdome guys got kicked out, and after several minutes security decided to kick out pyramid dude.

That is but a few of the hundreds I watched last night behaving badly.
It is such a shame. My 3 and 5 year old had better behavior. I knew last night it might be bad when I saw shirts coming off and a freakin sombrero, I fear a longer game and the streaker might have been warming up.

I'll tell you what...there was a 20-something African-American security chick that was ready to bring it on the older Thunderdome guy....she was getting all up in both those guys' grills. I really thought something was going to go down between her and those 2 guys, but it didn't. @Scuba, it is a shame grown adults can't act like adults. I guess that's part of reason my wife & I shy away from the weeknight games anymore.

Let's just hope the behavior of a couple of buffoons didn't ruin it for the rest of us.

Ok here's what happend the guy building pyramid got mad after zam driver hit the glass knocking it over. He then swated a few cans that flew over into section 120 hitting the 1st guy that got tossed one of the can almost hit a baby and hit my wife in the leg. Section 119 cheered when guy from 120 got tossed(guy that left with him
didn't do anything) so I started to boo until guy that swated cans got tossed too then when he did I stood up and cheer and to the guy who flipped me off right back at u bro!! Lol but next time learn how to be a good sport about it!

despite the bad behavior from alot of folks we didn't have any issues with the drunks. I saw quite a few. I understand this numbers game, if the discounted beers gets folks in the seats then so be it. I actually enjoyed a beer or two for the first time myself. You just have to come to the realization that when alcohol is consumed in quantity then there is going to be bad behavior. I got to tell you though, we have two of the most adorable little girls with their Cyclones jerseys on I have seen the most beligerant of drunks turn to mush around them. Not that we put them in harms way of course.

As one of the builders of said beeramid, I can tell you it wasn't Guido's fault. :)

Anyone who builds a beeramid knows that you have to take it down before the 3rd period anyway.

I was just hoping twister would be the one to skate and crash into it, like he did to a few last year. :)

What happened, was after you knocked it over, I went and sat down, but the other two guys started setting it up again like mad...which was mistake one.

Then, due to poor beeramid infrastructure ;) the beeramid toppled before everything was set up. The dude working on it was frustrated, obviously, and in his frustration, he swiped the bottom row clearing out the rest of it. He did this a little overzealously, which was mistake two.

Apparently, there a small amount of some beer still in some of the cans and a little 'spray' flew up into rows A and B, where an older gentleman and what looked to be his grandson were sitting (I hadn't seen them before - so I don't think they are season ticket holders). The older gentleman almost immediately got into the face of the guy, who had since gone and sat down...which I think is fine...but the guy who swiped the beeramid apologized, and the older guy wouldn't leave it alone, and the younger guy was also getting in the guys face. This was mistake three.

Then USBA staff went all gangbusters on them, there was a meeting, and they escorted the older guy and the younger guy with him out, because apparently the older guy 'pushed' the guy who swiped the beeramid (they asked the dude who swiped it - which he probably should have said 'I have no idea what you're talking about' to the USBA staff, and things would have been fine). A little later, one of the USBA guys came back down, and pulled the swiper too (didn't get any other explanation, since that was rather quick).

In the end, it was just a lot of bad attitudes from both sections that prevailed (cheering for each, when the other was tossed - sort of immature, but whatever). I can understand being upset about getting beer on you. I don't however, think the guy had the intent to get beer on anyone. I feel the apology should have sufficed, honestly...it's just a little beer on dollar beer night. In the end, though, the ejection punishments were probably warranted.

In the end though, if the older guy would have accepted the swiper's apology, there wouldn't have been any incident. But I guess we can't have that here.

You know what mama always used to say: "There's no use crying over spilt beer." :)

Ahh. I feel less bad now. The odd thing is that Twister hates knocking them down because they are just good fun, but he is expected to by mgmt if they are still standing.

I'll leave the next one for him and mind my own business.

If the ushers would just bring a "Rumpke-Recycle" can down to the glass
at the end of the 2nd intermission, the cans could be collected and the
fun finished. Problem with dollar beer night is the same guy that buys
three $6 beers on Saturday now gets 10-$1 beers on Tuesday. A simple
trash bag brought down in the third period and cans collected would
solve a lot of problems later in the game.

That is actually an excellent idea, Bags. I'll pass it on. Not sure if there is some other reason why it would not work - fire code access maybe? But I'll pass it on.

In the later innings, the Florence Freedom have the "cheer squad"
bring garbage bags down the aisles and garbage is collected and
taken away. Everyone seems to pitch in happily.
