CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Cincinnati Cyclones, proud affiliate of the NHL’s Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators, announced today that they have traded goaltender Brad Fogal to the Kalamazoo Wings in exchange for future considerations.
Fogal, a rookie from Sharon, Ontario, appeared in 11 games with the Cyclones this season and earned a 4-4-3 record with a 2.78 goals-against average.
The Cyclones will continue a two-game series with the Gwinnett Gladiators tomorrow night at U.S. Bank Arena with a 7:30pm opening face-off. It will be another Wet Wednesday, with $1 PBR and Miller High Life flowing all night long. In addition, a pre game Pucks N Pinot wine tasting event is available for purchase! Secure your seats now by calling 513.421.PUCK or log on to CyclonesHockey.com. Fans can also get the latest team updates throughout the season on Facebook and Twitter (@CincyCyclones). |

I'd rather have Fogal as the backup goalie to Foster. And I certainly would not have given Fogal to K-zoo. I hope the future considerations are worth it. Given our short bench, I'm a little surprised we didn't grab someone.
Oh well, as long as Nashville keeps Chet, he isn't going anywhere other than our team. I just wish Nashville would work with him to help him out. |

Ok...here's a thought...not sure if it can be done or not, but what if future considerations were for Fogal when Foster goes back up. That way Fogal gets to play and we get him back. :-)
Somehow I doubt that the above scenario is allowed. :-)
I can dream, can't I? |

| Great. And as soon as Foster gets called back up we are screwed (again). Sure don't understand the logic behind this one. |

Only three teams I wouldn't trade Fogal to- Toledo,Chicago or Kalamazoo. I'll take Ftorek back and call it even ! |

This isn't the NHL. Teams dont carry 3 goalies. If everyone is healthy in the system ahead of Foster then we have no worries.
Except when whatchamadoodle plays. |

100% agree. The only thing we accomplished was making the best team in our division better. |

I am trying to get my head around this one. With the high probability that Brian will not be here for the full 22 remaining games and Chets demonstrated inability to carry the load, I hope they have a Plan B all set to bring someone else in when Brian gets the call and they are confident that he will play better than Chet. The schedule is brutal in the next few weeks as we catch up in games and we are going to need a strong goalie tandem
They could have kept Fogel is they wanted. At first glance I thought Mec2973 was nuts on his thought we might get back as the player to be named later, but then I realized we owe K-Zoo a player to be named for the Clark trade last week, and as Fogel was not named as this player but traded in a separate deal, it leaves such a return open as a possibility |

Either help him out or trade him! At this point I would settle for a straight up trade for a Kyle Gajewski trading card. |

1) Why is it highly probably the Foster gets called back up? All other goalies in the system are healthy. Sure someone could always get hurt but the likelihood of that are the same now as they were throughout the season. San Antonio has Markstrom (NHL deal) and Grumet-Morris (1-way AHL deal) making it very unlikely that Foster will get called up based on merit. I doubt San Antonio wants to pay Dov AHL money to play in the ECHL.
2)"Future Considerations" do not automatically mean "player to be named later." It could be a case of beer. Passes to to a ski resort, a trip to the casino or the most popular CASH. Based on conversations with Brunker via twitter, who stated "nothing to do with Clarke deal... Remember "futures" can also mean cash in this league." I think it's safe to say the Clarke and Fogal deals are independent of each other and the deals were done for cash and both deals are completed.
Bakersfield does still owe the Cyclones a player.

Foster hasn't been here yet in two years for 22 straight games. FL top three have been injured on and off all year. Think the probability is high he will get called back up and my point was that they need a Plan B now of identifying who they would bring in if he does rather than going through several games with an EBUG while they start their search.
Glad you have the inside scoop to state "it is safe to say" that the two deals were done for cash and are complete. Thanks for passing it along |

| I can buy (to a point) you can't carry three goalies because the affiliates are healthy, but to trade him within your own division and to the division leader you are trying to catch! Maybe I am missing something, but I sure don't see how that helps your team out. |

| Gill is on recall to AHL and Clermont played this morning in a 3-1 win over Toledo. Lets see what happens when Gill returns and what sort of playing schedule Fogel gets before then. My point is that it MIGHT be way of stashing Fogel so they dont have to expose him and can get him back if needed. K-Zoo would have to have a massive collapse for us to catch them. |

| A major collapse? Their 10pts up, the 'Clones have 3 games in hand (6pts) and 3 (6pts) games left head to head with Kzoo. Sounds possible to me. Sure the Wings are going to have to drop some games but I'm not sure I'd call it a major collapse. |
