I think the divisions will be unbalanced, but will be a lot of cross over games within the eastern conference.
East divison
Trenton Titans Reading Royals Elmira Jackals Wheeling Nailers
North Divison
Cincinnati Cyclones Toledo Walleye Kalamazoo Wings Fort Wayne Komets Evansville Icemen
South Division
Greenville Road Warriors Gwinnett Gladiators South Carolina Stingrays Florida Everblades Orlando Solar Bears
Western Conference
Alaska Aces Idaho Steelheads Colorado Eagles Stockton Thunder Bakersfield Condors Las Vegas Wranglers Ontario Reign San Francisco Bulls Utah Grizzlies
I think Chicago will go dark, but it is a huge market maybe the league will step in, and help out for a year until another investor is found.

I think you've got it right....as of now
Elmira is a bit of a wild card right now. With all the shenanigans going on there-long term deposed GM suing owner, owner not paying taxes in a timely manner and the owner himself-nothing is assured.
Mostafa Afr owned the Louiville Panthers of the AHL (folded-franchise became Iowa Stars) and the Port Huron Border Cats of the UHL (folded and some heavy duty stuff went on with a partially built area). No franchise this guy is involved with can be considered stable.
Should Elmira go under, then guess who is the most geographically-suited partner in the North Division of Wheeling, Trenton and Reading? You got it. Us. I would hope that the seniority of the Cyclones franchise compared to the rest of the teams in the division would carry some substantial weight in not allowing what would be an absolutely horrendous travel situation to occur. Greenville might have to make the move into the East Division.
Also, I tend to doubt that the ECHL will foot the bill (even partially) for a Chicago franchise. It wasn't too long ago (2008) that the league allowed the Augusta Lynx and the Fresno Falcons to fold mid season. As many might recall, Chuck Weber picked up Dustin Sproat, Brian O'Hanley and Jamie Coughlan from the Falcons upon their demise. |

If Elmira was to fold, and Fort Wayne and Evansville don't join. I think they will just merge the two existing northern divisions into one.
Trenton Reading Wheeling Kalamazoo Cincinnati Toledo
At this writing I think the ECHL needs FW and Eville to help the North Division. I know the USHL wants an eastern footprint, but when the Adriondack Phantoms move back to PA. The ECHL needs to find a way to put a team there to solidify the East division. |

Looking at the CHL map to see if there are any teams that might make sense joining the ECHL Western Conference to make two five team divisions especially if the CHL implodes. One is Arizona but they only drew 2507 per game and the history of hockey in AZ in any league has been spotty. The other is Rapid City SD who drew 4700 per game. It is "only" 360 miles up the interstate from Windsor Colorado ( which is nearly 500 miles from Salt Lake its current closest team- about the same as if SC were our closest team) where the Eagles play. Some creative scheduling of having two visiting teams play three games in four days between Windsor and Rapid City might help. My first reaction is one of travel costs and travel time etc but Rapid City has to go all over the map for the CHL now for all their games as does ECHL teams in the Western Conference for a lot of their games. Not sure it would be a big difference for anyone from their current travel budgets etc.
I know the ECHL teams going to Alaska fly to Seattle/Vancover on their dime and then the Aces pick up the plane ride to Alaska and vice versa. Other than that, I don't know how much the US based teams fly between say Salt Lake and the CA teams or Las Vegas. It is nearly 600 miles from Vegas to SF.
Guess I have too much time to fill until NHL playoffs begin Thursday.

Perfect fit for many is if the Reno site ever get's activated. Like Las Vegas, you put it in a casino and the casino uses the extra draw for games as spillage into the casino. 2500 fans per game can be profitable if 30% gamble during the week and 70% do some gambling on the weekends. |

This should shed some light on it. Both Fort Wayne and Evansville are off the map on the CHL's website.......

What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
