Hockey's answer to the Chicago Cubs got just what one would have expected in the NHL lottery yesterday. They lost
Instead of Columbus drafting first overall, Edmonton won the lottery and will pick #1 overall for the third straight year. Edmonton-should they draft Nail Yakupov-will have a very nice stockpile of young offensive talent with Nail, Ryan Nug.-Hopkins, Eberle and Taylor Hall.
The Jackets will..... still be the Jackets. GM Scott Howson's last toppick-Center Ryan Johansen (4th overall 2010-finished his rookie year with 21 points. His play toward the end of the season was really poor.....4 assists in his last 25 games.
I hope Craig Patrick (Hockey Hall of Famer and current Blue Jackets advisor) is really calling the shots in Columbus. Howson is so bad that a 2nd overall pick-which is pretty hard to screw up-shouldn't be left to him as he'd find a way to screw it up.
Well its basically a given they will be taking either D-man Murray or Forsburg. I hope Forsburg, he is 100% NHL ready, and if they cant convince Nash to stay, he would be a perfect replacement.
