St. Denis appeared in 17 games for Montreal this season. They were his first NHL games. His stats: 1g 2a 3pts +3.
From what I saw (a limited amount) and from what I read, St. Denis played very well. He was positionally responsible and made very few major errors. Many project him to be a #7 defenseman with the team next season. My biggest memory of him in his time with the Cyclones was of him inadvertently deflecting in the series deciding goal past our goalie in the 4th game of the Conference Final vs. SC in 2008-09. We were swept in that series.
In Montreal's season finale, there were 3 former ECHL Cyclones on the ice: St. Denis, Robert Mayer and David Desharnais. If one adds IHL Cyclones, then add another to that total. Erik Cole who played his rookie season in Cincinnati was Desharnais linemate most of the season and scored a career high 35 goals with DD as his centerman.
Four Cyclones.....pretty impressive. |
