As we don't get to see ECHL or AHL playoff games, thought I would start conversation of what we are seeing in the NHL games. The following article by Kevin DuPont of the Boston Globe who is a writer I have respected for years summarizes my thoughts pretty well and am interested in the thoughts of others:

Quote from article:
In his patented predatory way, Torres spotted a vulnerable Hossa in the neutral zone, just after the elite Slovak forward released the puck, and delivered him straight to Palookaville, launching off his feet and riveting a shoulder check to Hossa’s head.

This is the kind of hit I've complained about with Mike Liambas. Del Monte
was another one we had known to seek out the chance for the "ooh-ahh" hit.
To the beer drinking crowd that player is a hero. Then when their goon takes
the ice and lays out one of our players- they go screaming for his hide.
Torres needs to be finished for the playoffs plus the first 10 games of next
season no matter how far his team goes.

Great article. This years NHL playoffs have been a mess. Intensity picks up this time of year, but it's unbelievable how dirty alot of the games have been.

Torres,Neal and Asham recieved well deserved intent to injure suspensions, but then what the hell was Shea Weber trying to do to Zetterberg? There's no consistency with the discipline handed out.

You can't use IE for it, but:

-Now with improved 'playoff' (Shea Webber) mode.

It could be argued that by not suspending Weber, the NHL set a bad precedent. How many times was "but you didn't suspend Weber" said at these disciplinary hearings?

This is a couple of years old, but it might still apply:

Thanks for an article from 2009 bringing up my famous target. First
off to Mike Liambas- I'm only picking on you now because for a period
of this season while filling in at defense, you played some solid pro
hockey. Then all of a sudden you reverted back to your old ways of looking
for the sitting duck on the ice. Just take a look at what these type hits
can bring you:

My words here and $1 will get you a cheap beer in Cincinnati on beer night.
Do your self a favor and curb the "cheap hits" and you might have a long career
at the ECHL possibly AHL level.
