| all I can say is :)... Fort Wayne can rekindle the rivals they once had... Kalamazoo, Cincy, Toledo, etc... definitely a great call for a nice IHL reunion of sorts, and they will all be in our division! |

| I am really looking forward to our division next season. I think it is going to be very heated each night, and a lot of fun easy road trips. |

| With all of these new teams coming in, the ECHL will have to do some conference realignment or else the Eastern Conference will be at an even greater disadvantage regarding playoffs. |

| I doubt there will be any realignments. The east will be the better conference again, and it will be 14 teams competing for 8 spots. I love it. |

I can't imagine that some type of realignment or adjustment wouldn't be put in place. If nothing else, perhaps reduce the number of playoff teams in the west and cede a couple more to the east. At some point, the PHPA will intervene due to competitive inequity. We saw that happen this spring with the NHLPA and its realignment plan. |

With the West, San Francisco's entry means that conference can pit a full 8 team playoff, which rocks because I never liked the idea of the 1 seed getting a bye. I agree with Reggie about possible PHPA intervention... the ECHL really needs to expand westward better than they have been doing.
With all realignment plans, the better option is to move one or more teams to the other conference. With the ECHL, that is geographically impossible and to try it would cause Armageddon. There is just too wide a gap in maproom between East and West, or Colorado and Evansville... the only chance the ECHL has to make a balance is to fill in the national gap... with the Central league falling apart that might be a good way to do just that. |
