CINCINNATI , Ohio – The Cincinnati Cyclones, proud affiliate of the NHL’s Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators announced today that they have traded forward Matt Sisca to the Orlando Solar Bears in exchange for future considerations.

With the pair of preseason games behind them, the 2012 regular season will begin this weekend! On Saturday, October 13, the Cyclones will host the second-annual Power Play 5K Run/Walk followed by the 2012 First Face-Off against the Wheeling Nailers at U.S. Bank Arena. Registration for the race is open NOW on CyclonesHockey.com. The first 7,500 fans through the gates will receive a FREE 2012-13 Cyclones Magnetic Schedule, courtesy of The Plastic Surgery Group. | Horrible move. I get that it was done due to pending send downs from the AHL teams, but maybe they get rid of a player who isnt a 1st/2nd liner and a proven ECHL talent. |

| Surprised also as I liked his energy but if the send downs fill more than the usual number of spots, not sure what other options they had except to release him for nothing. Only so many roster spots they can carry and if and when the lockout ends and people move up the ladder, they at least have a consideration they can use. Lets hope it is a problem of riches. The clock on the right now says 3 days, 9 hrs, and 21 minutes. Can't wait |

Better hope the NHL lockout lasts all season....
It's scary to think that right now there are only 7 guys on the team (Aubin, Eves, Pelech, Reed, Edwards, Liambas, Penner) that are under contract with the 'Clones. The rest are affiliated players.
This move was solely based on roster space. Who else do you trade? Aubin? Pelech? Eves? Not a chance. Reed, Edwards and Liambas are worth anything on the trade market, not to mention they're defensemen which are typically hard to come by mid season. Factor in the Sisca, while having incredible offensive upside, is incredibly soft defensively,a turnover machine and cheats on getting out of the zone way to often leaving them to defend with 4 all too often, and he becomes the logical choice to move. Also, it's my understanding, based on what Skalde said at the coach's show Monday night, the "futures" are 2 players. That could loom large if the lockout ends mid season.
