We may not have Liambas, but the boys took care of business when
it was needed. Solid Defense, solid goaltending and smart hockey gave
us the 2-1 overtime win. I'd like to see a little more movement around
the net when we are on the power play. When you have a two man advantage,
standing in place should not be an option. Like to see players skating
around the left and coming around on the right side of the net to draw
the goalies vision towards the movement. Time for Foster to have a game
off and non-division Greenville would be a perfect choice. If the NHL
ever starts up, Foster may be a casualty to call ups and Zoltan may be
the main man.
I'll give Coach Skalde credit for putting a team on the ice we can be
proud of. I'll assume he didn't get in the way of Liambas's exit along
with the other goons so now we have our usual Cyclone's team- good goal-
tending, solid defense and no player deemed a goon waiting for a hit.
Pelech looks like he is doing a good job as an enforcer when needed.

Roussel with Pelech filling in looks like they'll drop gloves when needed but we won't have an actual "enforcer".

Made a few corrections but in general I agree.

My concern is that this team is riding Foster right now and getting results, but I can't see him lasting past the end of the lockout. Injuries or players staying on the other side of the Atlantic almost certainly means he is gone, along with a few other guys.

Right now we are reaping the benefit of two affiliates. I'm afraid that later we'll feel the pain. It's pretty fun to watch right now though as this is higher level hockey than we usually see in ECHL sweaters.

Yes, I grew up playing hockey... In Alabama.

It is great seeing a higher quality of play, but it also works against us. So many great AHL caliber goalies are in the league now. And Cam Reid has some ridiculous stickwork. I want to see the lockout end to watch the NHL, but I'll be sad to lose Foster and Reid and other players who just have sheer skill and dont belong down here.

I seriously doubt the lockout's going to end. I know the Winter Classic's been cancelled. I must admit that I was wrong about Liambus. I agree it's nice to see a faster played game.

Hockey is life. All the rest is just small stuff.

If the strike don't end and Mr.Skalde don't take
A team like this deep into the playoffs I'm
sorry but he will need to go!! I like the faster
pace of they game and this team is looking
good right now so if/when the lock out ends I
hope Skalde can still piece together a good team
for deep playoff/championship run!!

Skalde's a good coach. You'll see him move up to the American Hockey League as a head coach or as an assistant coach with a National Hockey League team in the foreseeable future.
