The big club must want Hellberg to get some more regular playing time. I'd expect to see him in net Friday night.

Jeremy Smith is the clear No1 in MKE. I'd imagine this is the 1st of several swaps we'll see between Hetenyi and Hellberg as the Ads work to get them all playing time.

Also, The Rampage have assigned Michael Houser to us. All indicators were Houser was the goalie the Cyclones were due to receive (rather than Foster) to start the season until he went down with injury.

Sounds like Foster will be boarding the first flight to San Antonio.

San Antonio already has 2 other goalies ahead of Foster. They just want Houser to get playing time. Im guessing until they can find another ECHL team to place Houser/Foster with we're going to somehow juggle the 3 of them. Hopefully they dont move Foster to another team and stick us with unknown Houser. He seems like he has alot of potential - OHL best goalie award winner last year - but Foster is proven.

Bye Magnus!
Thanks for coming. Have a safe trip back to Milwaukee!

Kid has got serious talent and we'll only see him when the big club wants to get him more ice time. I suspect he won't be around much, but I will say that if we somehow end up with him and Foster in net we'll walk into the playoffs and likely run deep.
But don't hold your breath.

Hellberg was a beast last night ! As unsure as Zoltan seemed to be
at times, that was never seen last night. Both Foster and Hellberg are
strong AHL level goalies and we saw a weak ECHL level goalie in York last
night for Evansville. Also didn't help the Icemen played like they just
got off the bus, dressed and came out and played all in 10 minutes time !
Great crowd last night but seemed larger than posted 4700. Only negative
was the Evansville team turning ugly in the last 5 minutes. Luckily they
fought as well as they played.

He played with a lot of confidence and was under control the whole night. Saw something I don't think I have ever seen. Goalies are taught that when they are screened from puck movement especially in a PK situation to get low and lean right and left and look between legs to try and find it before the shot. Magnus is soo tall he stands up straight and almost looks like he gets on his tippy toes to look OVER the screen!!!

As much as I was impressed with him last night, the kid I was most impressed with was McFarland. He has speed, great hands, and a hard shot. He made three moves last night I haven't seen made this year. In first period he came hard down the left wing then changed direction untouched and cut to the slot where he made a nice shot. In the third he had the same opportunity but this time kicked the speed up and turned the defensemen to get around him and finally his third goal where he walked out of the left corner around two defensemen and then sort of cut back and did a wrap around that was beautiful to watch. Three goals--one by taking a pass with his soft hands, one by a boomer from the blue line, and the last with great movement and stick handling out from the corner. Message to Chuck: Mcfarland is only 20, first year out of Juniors, and in the 12 games he dressed for you he had four shots and three assists. He is too young to sit at the end of the bench in some of your games. Let him stay here and play full time every night and develop rather than perhaps dressing and then playing 8 minutes or so for you. Pretty please

Evansville is playing with a depleted lineup with 13 guys out due to injuries and call-ups to the AHL. They're scrambling to enough players to put a team on the ice every night.

Magnus had the shutout covered but the boys got a little lazy on D after they got up 5-0 and gave away too many freebies. He got all of them but one point blanker.

And agreed on McFarland. We havent seen anything like that around here since Desharnais. Hopefully he will stick around.

It's unfortunate that things got goontastic late, but it was after all a 5 goal game in the ECHL and that's just sort of what happens. I realize there currently is no roster room for a pure enforcer, but it would have been a nice thing to have last night. We don't want skill guys busting their hands on helmets or taking one on the jaw.

Enforcer talk, please. No need.

Evansville turd gets suspended and fined like he should have:

Enforcers just get sat out and fined. A team with some ability to protect one another when needed is all that matters.

Remember that when Wilson or Pelech go on the IR with a hand injury. Both have been observed punching helmets.

Just sayin'.

Part of the ECHL experience is to learn for the next level. If a player
is foolish enough to punch a helmet, he won't make it at the next level.
Same way with "rabbit ears". If you can easily be suckered into fighting
at this level, this will be the level you stay at. We have a jersey hanging
in the rafters to remind us of this- #21 Gilbert Dionne. Dionne was a great
player for us, but his temper could easily be turned on by opposing players.

As expected, Hellberg and Hetenyl pass each other somewhere in I65 in Indiana.
