Congrats to all of the Cyclones. It has been a year in which we saw what happens when a team comes together and plays as a team.
Thought I would open up a conversation about playoff issues--anything and everything.
There seems to be a lot of teams in the Conference capable of getting hot and winning the conference. The one team I would like to avoid in then first round and as long as possible is--as it seems to be every year--SC. They say you win in playoffs with goaltending and Ryan Zapolski has been amazing and is even hotter now than ever. For the year he has a GAA of 1.65 and a save % of .942. That is certainly great but in Feb/March he has played in 15 games giving up 18 goals and has lost one in regulation and two in OT (both OT loses were after giving up one goal in regulation). His GAA during these two months is an astonishing 1.18 with a save % of .960!! That means he has given up a goal over these two months once every 25 shots on goal! He has had only one bad game all year and that ironically was against us here on 12/21 when he gave up 6 goals.
Reading also has hot goaltending now that they found ex K-Wing Riley Gill languishing in the Southern league and he has righted their ship going 8-2 since being signed with a GAA of 1.32 and a save % of .951. Lets hope these two teams meet prior to the Clones drawing their number.
Love to hear others thoughts on anything playoffs |

| Good observation, dbc. I guess I need to add SC to my list of teams that give me a bit of trepidation. The two teams I really don't want to see the Cyclone play in the first round are Toledo and Florida. Toledo always gives the Cyclone trouble. Vitucci always has them prepared and finds a way to match up with the home squad very well. Florida, although vulnerable defensively, can tear it up offensively. The last game they played here they beat Cincinnati to nearly every loose puck and won most of the board battles. They appeared to be fast and strong. I think they could be a tough "out" in the playoffs. |

| A big match up tonight between SC and Greenville could go a long way to determining who the Cyclone play in the first round. Looks like it will go down to the final day of the schedule for everything to shake out. |

I would personally rather play Greenville than SC. I agree with all of you-Zapolski could kill us.
Good luck to all teams in the league. |
Hockey is life. All the rest is just small stuff.

| Toledo it is. Bo5th teams were 4-3-1 against the other with each team winning 3 in regulation, losing 3, and splitting two OT games. Clones outscored them 21-19. Would have liked to see Greenville but at least Toledo is a shorter drive. |

| anyone know what is going on with goaltending? ECHL says D"Augustino was released but nothing on replacement as of 4pm. AHL and SA websites say nothing about Foster. As i said a few weeks ago going into playoffs with just Hauser makes me nervous if only for injury reasons. |

Nick Brunker announced about an hour ago that Jeff Rose is back as the back up. He was with Dayton in the FHL. |

| Saw Rose play a few times this year. He is a good goalie in the FHL. He positions himself well, but I don't want to see him in a playoff game at the ECHL level. Maybe next year the Cyclones will invite him to training camp. I'm not sure if he was here this year or not. |
